How about some cute forum prizes for the winner of MOTY.

nothing monetary, simple stuff that you can change.

The Winner would get:

the elusive PURPLE V.I.P status for the year/a few months?
instantly be bumped to the front of the Roulette Line, or Top 50 Album line
10 temp bans to be given out at that members choosing for shits and giggles.

I almost typed that with a straight face) I'd love to be able to remove/add back my underscore in my username at my own choosing. Some days I just feel it holding me back but I do love how easy it makes it to spot my name when I'm skimming through the posts of others and someone mentions me.
