Alright alright alright:

Ultimetalhead:

Floater-Luddite: Trying to play to my grunge side, eh? It worked pretty well. Like you said, this has an Alice in Chains sound, but it's a bit more subdued (not a good thing, mind you) and the bass is in fact Primus-y. The singer has a pretty good voice. I liked the way the song changed a few times getting from heavy to lighter back to heavy at end the song. The last minute of the song was the highlight, as it was the most emotional. My most basic judgement call of a song is whether or not I will attempt to listen to a band after the roulette, and I think I will with this one. 5/7

Ravenheart:

Horror Show-The Birthday Massacre: I dug the beginning of the song. It was pretty and "big," but it kind of went down hill from there. The chick's voice wasn't exactly bad, nor was the song all that bad. I just felt that the entire thing was like 4 minutes of noise. Now, when I say that, I don't mean it the same way a black metal song is 4 minutes of noise. What I mean is that the song just didn't do anything for me. It just passed 4 minutes of time. I felt nothing. To be honest, I was on the fence between giving this a 2 or a 3, but I'm going to give this a 3, as it seems that I am giving 2s to songs I actively dislike, and this is not that. I just find this song to be meh, or "bearable" as I put it on page 2. As I'm listening to it for the last time typing this, I must say that, as an after thought, the music is nice. If there were instrumentals of this stuff, I might like it. 3/7

Shake:

The Flaming Lips-Flight Test: I had high hopes when one of the related videos on the side was of Cat Stevens. Totally fucking delivered, dude!!! This is a fucking awesome song. It's beautiful. It's catchy. It's chorus is great, it had me singing after the first listen, and it was Cat Stevens like. Is this a live version of the song, or did the band add applause? Whatelse? I really don't know what to add, man. The double tracking of the vocals is what just throws it over the top for me. I love that stuff and I just really love this song. Not a 7, but most definitely a solid 6, and it was by and large the best song of the round. Good job. 6 +1 for being the best song of the round, making it a 7.

Lat:

Rammstein-Mein Herz Brennt: I'll admit, I was skeptical. Very skeptical. After all, I've seen some videos of Rammstein, and to be honest, they fucking scare me. Like, seriously. Also, music in different languages usually doesn't fly with me. I mean, I'm just starting to find it cool with bands like Eluveitie, but I was pleasantly surprised. After the initial build up, the music was fucking badass. Heavy, melodic with the violins, pretty sweet vocals for a German dude. I just really dug the song. And I couldn't help but bang my head to the music right after the couple MEIN! HERZ! BRENNT! parts. Good job. 5/7

Oh, and lol for the Metallica at the end of the video.

Sigz:

Fair to Midland-Dance of the Manatee: I don't know why, but I had the preconceived notion that these dudes were boybandish. Don't know why I felt that way, but I was wrong. I mean, they weren't Morbid Angel, but they certainly weren't that soft and poppy. Overall, the song was ok. The song reaches its peak at its choruses, and it is pretty damn good. I read in the chorus thread that these dudes write a good chorus and it is pretty good. Um...what else? I don't know. It wasn't fucking awesome like your last two song, but it was a decent song. I'm on the fence about checking these guys out after the thread. 4/7

Lonestar:

Yes-Yours is No Disgrace: Ok, before I want to start, I want to say one thing...In my opinion, jam DOES NOT work on a CD. You can't capture the feel of a jam on a CD. I saw Phish last summer, and it was a pretty fun show. I didn't know any of the songs they played, but I went for the fun and the atmosphere and it delivered. I can imagine this doing the same...if I was there. Unfortunately, I wasn't. (I had tickets to see Yes, but Jon Anderson got sick.) That is why this isn't getting a high score. The musicians are talented, but over a CD, I just get handle 14 minutes of wheedly wheedly wheedly. Live, Phish did it for 4 hours and I thought it was pretty sweet. Inb4 "You like Dream Theater?" My answer to that is...well, not really. Not anymore anyway. I did not really like it, but I didn't actively dislike it, and I feel bad because I think you just picked the wrong type of song to send. 3/7

DTVT:

Charred Walls of the Damned-Lead the Way: The only thing that really comes to mind when I listen to this is: meh. It's totally standard for ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING that Ripper is on. It gets fucking old fucking quick. I mean seriously...standard power metal guitars, standard drums, and Ripper trying to prove he was castrated at the age of 6. The song didn't even really have a point that made me notice its difference until the "sinking teeth..." part. I don't know man. Maybe if you had shown this to me 2 years ago, I would have dug it, but I'm tired of stuff like this. However, as I've said before, I didn't actively dislike it. 3/7

Ariich:

Brand New-You Won't Know: Dude, you scared me when you mentioned emo. You scared me further when you used the word hardcore. And to be honest, didn't really like the song. Maybe it was conformation bias, but it did seem a bit emo to be and I could see the hardcore vocals in it. It just sounded whiney. Like, I could be generalizing but I feel like the band is made up of a bunch of skinny guys with short hair and tats. *Goes to look* Well, sorta. Couldn't find a decent picture. If there was one redeeming quality about this it's that the music is "big," as you said, but I'd take small and good over big and well...bad. 2/7

Well, I couldn't please everyone for the whole thing. I'm surprised I did it for 2 rounds.

Maybe I'm doing this whole roulette thing wrong, but I'm sending you stuff I love, in hopes that I might turn you onto something new.  Happened in my roulette a couple of times.  I would never have the audacity to send you something I "know" you'd like and get all fucking butthurt when you didn't.  If jam isn't your thing, it isn't.  I guess I'll be passing on the Grateful Dead in favor of something else though. :P

Glad you liked that Rammstein song. I highly recommend checking out the album it comes from, Mutter. It's heavy as fuck and Til's voice makes me so god damn moist.

This next round I already know what I'm sending. I am fully prepared to be shit on but fuck it.
I felt its length in quite a few places.

Dammit Cole, you need to learn to read. I said "post-hardcore", not "hardcore", which is a big distinction you should certainly be aware of if you're going to judge things by genre. And I said that some people might call them emo, but they're really not (same goes for a lot of post-hardcore in my experience).

Anyway, sent. Went with something pretty different this time, hope you like it!
