Al Di Meola
« on: January 07, 2012, 05:26:27 PM »
Just preordered the Morocco Fantasia bluray. I'm pumped to get that in the mail!  :D His latest album along with what he's been involved with for the past few years have been really phenomenal. He just simply doesn't stop growing as an artist. One of the greats that will truly always be imo.

It's also nice to see JP out there with him! I can just see it on JPs face that he holds Al Di Meola in such high regards. Definitely an expression of someone being around a hero of theirs. ;)

Al Di Meola is about to release a new solo album, on the 23th of February.
Here's a source (German):
https://www.progrock-dt.de/neuigkeiten/neues-album-von-al-di-meola-opus-erscheint-am-23.2.
It says:
Quote
On the 23th of February 18, Al Di Meola releases his new album "Opus" (on earMUSIC). According to Di Meola it combines typical electric Jazz-Rock moments with virtuoso acoustic World music.

I read that last night, pretty scary. Hopefully he'll have a quick recovery.

Yikes.  We've lost too many in recent years, hopefully this will be soon behind him.
