"To our family, friends and fans: We have decided to continue on without Howard Jones as the singer of KILLSWITCH ENGAGE. We love Howard and are thankful for the nine years that we've had him in the band. Out of respect for everyone involved, we will not be discussing the specific reasons behind this decision. Howard is a part of our family and always will be, and we wish him well. He has left big shoes to fill, so we certainly have our work cut out for us to find the next singer of KILLSWITCH, something we plan on making priority #1 going forward. Most importantly, thanks to all of you for all the support throughout the years and for sticking by us for all this time. We really do appreciate it and we very much look forward to having a new record for all of you in the not too distant future that we can all be proud of."

Jones sat out KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's North American headlining tour in early 2010, leading to a flurry of rumors and questions about the status of the band. The group subsequently issued a statement addressing the matter, saying, "It became overwhelmingly obvious to all of us around Howard that he is in no condition to be on tour right now and that he needed to get off the road and get himself better. It's a personal matter and while we understand everyone's curiosity and concern for Howard and the band, we appreciate everyone respecting Howard's privacy at this time." Longtime friend, Phil Labonte of ALL THAT REMAINS, was able to fill in and help out the band for the remainder of the tour.

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE is continuing to write and demo material for the follow-up to their 2009 self-titled album. Bassist Mike D'Antonio wrote in a November 2011 online posting, "As of now we have eight demos finished for the new record. Everything is coming together nicely at the moment… My demos are pretty fast. Blast beats, anyone?"

I've always been a KsE fan, since AOJB. I want Jesse back more than anything. A couple months ago, I told one of my best friends (a huge KsE fan as well) that I had a dream Howard left and Jesse came back and he was like 'hell yeah!'. Today, half that dream came true lol. Scary.

After that Times of Grace album came out, I want him back more than ever, cause I seriously thought that album was better than every KsE album!!

After being a KsE fan for many years the group started to get... I don't know, uninteresting to me. I haven't listened to them in years, however, Alive or Just Breathing is an album I can appreciate a lot even with all these years passed by. This should be interesting.

After The End of Heartache, it sounds the same. Like they made the albums just to get more girls in the audience. Guaranteed when TEOH came out their fans were mostly males.

A me from 3 years ago would be more bothered about this news. Shame nevertheless, Howard is a great singer, sings with such power and screams good too. Extremely talented and probably one of the reasons why I liked the band.

I can only see Jesse Leach returning to be honest.

Daniel Weyandt is the quintessential metalcore vocalist. Just look up Zao

edit: I love how KSE isn't all "METAL FUCK YEAH!!!" like other bands. A lot of their music videos seem like it's just a bunch of college kids jamming.

Just sounds like Killswitch Engage to me. Honestly, if I hadn't known they changed singers and was just listening casually to this, I wouldn't know the difference until the chorus. KSE have their thing, and they do it very competently, but I got over these guys years ago, and I don't see this album changing that.

I've never liked Howard as much, his vocals just weren't as good, and that's not a slight to him, because he's got great pipes, but Leach has quite frankly amazing pipes.

Thread resurrection

Just listened to the new one and while it brings nothing new to the table I really enjoyed it. I still think that they have some of the best riffing in heavier metal.

Incarnate is a solid effort from them, it's almost like a twin album to DtD. More melodic though
