Alright folks, here we are. The end of my Top 50. This list was extremely fun to make and to do write ups for. I hope you all enjoyed yourselves and there will be free pie and punch at the door on the way out. But in the meantime, let me reveal number 1.

This album is so unbelievably awesome that it shits bricks of pure badassery. This album is a combination of many of the things I love most in almost all music. Heavy, soft, sad, bizarre as fuck, a mix of electric and acoustic instruments, etc. It's all there. And this mystery album just so happens to be...

Wait for it...

Here it comes now......

Almost there...

1. Mezmerize by System of a Down

That's right folks, System of a Down at number one. Now before you people who throw them off as shitty nu-metal, let me explain myself. First of all, I am very biased towards SoaD seeing how they are one of my all time favourite bands. But this album in particular sets itself apart from all other material the band has written, and anything else I've ever heard. This album is simply original as fuck, and completely genre-defying. Aside from some easy to pick out musical styles, I honestly have no fucking clue where this album came from. If you listen to SoaD's previous material, this album sounds almost nothing like it. Their first two albums were very hardcore influenced with a touch of the bizarre. But this album takes a completely different direction and runs on a 36 minute time limit of musical perfection. It's an album I must listen to all the way through, and often times several times in a row. The album is a work of art, and easily the high point of SoaD's entire career. From beginning to end, I have trouble tearing myself away for even a few seconds. This album owns all other albums, if you ask me. Perfect length, amazing musicianship and a good handful of whacky shit all thrown into a musical melting pot. So for all you naysayers, at least give this album a chance with an open mind. There are a lot of very interesting and cool ideas flowing throughout this album. And it's well put together. Mezmerize feels like an album produced by a band who really wanted to make a masterpiece. Something to live on for years to come. And this album succeeds to the nth power.

Highlight Tracks - B.Y.O.B, Radio/Video, Question!
I felt its length in quite a few places.

Seriously an interesting pick for number one, but I can understand why you did it. This is album is very good, to say the least, and is pretty much the only full album I like by System of a Down.

ok i was expecting the masterpiece album A Dramatic Turn of Events by Dream Theater

but how the fuck can i argue with this, SOAD used to be what DT is to many people on this board.

But Alex, motherfucking, Mesmerize and Hypnotize are one album and i dont give a FUCK what you say, this is bullshit and you know it

Lonely Day is not bad, but not one of my favorites either.
Come to think of it, Hypnotize as a whole is really good, maybe even equal to Mesmerize.

Hypnotize is absolutely fantastic, but has a couple of low points unlike Mezmerize. Hypnotize also is cursed with "it took me 4 god damn years to appreciate it".

Well, to be honest I'm not that keen on Cigaro or This Cocaine..., however Mesmerize has songs like Question!, Old School Hollywood and Lost in Hollywood.
Hypnotize has amazing songs like Holy Mountains, Soldier Side and the-title track.
I'm not gonna lie, the albums are very close for me (probably tied), and Steal this album! and Toxicity are about equal as well, the only album that haven't clicked for me is the self-titled, which I think is good, but not more. (feels a bit unpolished perhaps)

Anyhow, I should probably listen to SOAD more, they have some really good material after all.

I like Lonely Day, a lot.

Mezmerize is a fantastic choice. I personally think it becomes even better with Hypnotize added onto it. Soldier Side, Holy Mountains, Dreaming, and Hypnotize are especially awesome.

I liked a lot of stuff on your list, and there was quite a bit I really don't like.  And some I've never heard of.  So I guess I will go listen to some of your #1 album recommendation and see what I think.

Thank you for taking the time to do this list.  :)

Toxicity is much, much better than Mezmerize.
Actually, I think that's the majority opinion when it comes to System.

Mesmerise and Hypnotise were the last albums I remember hearing that both of my brothers and I all enjoy/ed a lot. I used to like both albums equally, but now I'd say Mesmerise is the stronger by a mile. Both albums have a good three or four flawless tracks, but while Mesmerise is quite strong overall, a good half of Hypnotise would make a list of the ten worst songs System ever did. Also, Lonely Day.
