Lets Remember: Battlebots
« on: December 03, 2011, 05:50:45 PM »
Anyone else used to watch this show? I remember when I was in my teens staying up late and being glued to the TV

For those not knowing of the show, basically two (occasionally more) teams would build robots that they'd eventually put in a battlefield to duke it out. Loved the stages too, as they had traps built into the floors and stuff.

Fuck yeah I remember this show!

Remember the "boss bots" they had in the stages? Randomly came out and just destroyed the competitors!

I don't remember their name in the US version, I just called them that because they were so obviously overpowered and unfair to the rest.

Bill Nye the Science Guy, a semi-popular tv personality who did a science show.  Somewhat of an icon to us fogies.

I remember Biohazard, that one was on a lot.
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

I was a wee lad (around 7 years) when it was canceled, but I remember it well.  Shit hurt.

Fucking awesome show, though.  I remember getting together with friends and trying to run our own competitions for years afterwards.  Ours weren't nearly as cool, though.

The mechanical engineering chapter at my uni does Battlebots-like competitions every year.

Shit is so cash!
