It definitely sounds better than Riot Avenue, which I also thought was pretty poor, but it doesn't sound like it will touch New Religion, which was great.

Oh come on Timo, at least you usually just rip yourself off, now you gotta rip off other bands?

I love this Allen/Lande tune.  Even if the rest of the album is subpar, this is worth it for me.  With that being said, "Edge of Thorns" is one of my all time favorite songs.  And this tune is identical to it, so I'm biased.

Jeez.
Savatage rang. They want their song back. I like this song, but there again I liked it when it was Edge Of Thorns too. Very naughty. How did no-one catch that?

Definitely.  The thing is, it's so many identical sections.  The piano into, the entering chords and drums entering during the intro, the identical chugging and then the melody from the first line from Jorn.  As you said, it's a decent song, but what the hell?

Yeah, there would absolutely be no point in Savatage pursuing this at all.  If Nickelback or Creed did though, then they could be onto something.

So........Ten now are a 7 piece.  2 lead guitarists and 1 rhythm guitarist.  has this happened before?  :lol Skynard, Eagles?  Now Ten.

British melodic rock giants TEN, who will release their new album 'Albion' November 21, have announced two new members. The band has revamped its lineup with the addition of guiarist Dann Rosingana and guitarist Steve Grocott.

For years Gary Hughes has toyed with the idea of bringing even more power and width into the TEN live sound. They are two highly skilled individuals and the aim is to bring twin lead guitar back into play whilst not detracting from the solid and powerful backdrop which is trademark TEN.

Gary commented: "The arrival of Dann and Steve will enable the band to play more of the layers in TEN's studio sound live on stage."

Dann is a very gifted guitar player with a very bluesy edge. Combining speed and melody perfectly in his solo work. He was born Barrow-in-Furness Cumbria, and has been playing guitar since the age of 10. Dann also plays keyboards and sings. His previous Bands include: Shellshocked, A2Z, Hysteria and Yorkshire based club band, Jagged Edge.

Steve is an incredibly versitile guitar player. Combining stunning technical ability with harmony and melody. Creating light and shade in breathtaking abundance with his solo work. Steve hails from Staffordshire and has been playing guitar since the age of 12. His previous bands include AOR band Sevendayz.

ALBION is the first of the 2 new albums to feature lead guitarwork by Dann and Steve.

TEN veteran, the formidable John Halliwell, once again provides the power guitar backdrop and both new additions will share the lead duties and twin together to bring a new dimension to the solo aspect of TEN live sound.

TEN are:

Gary Hughes - Vocals
Dann Rosingana - Guitars
Steve Grocott - Guitars
John Halliwell - Guitars
Steve Mckenna - Bass
Darrel Treece-Birch - Keyboards
Max Yates - Drums

Beginning with their October UK appearance at Firefest, TEN will emerge as a new look 7 piece, for the first time featuring the triple guitar attack that will bring a new dimension to the established British Melodic Rock giants.

This seems absolutely pointless to me, but what the hell hey?  I expect a shit load of guitars on the new album.  A shame as I was looking forward to hearing the guy he got on H&C again, he had some chops.

Ten have sounded muddy enough over the years without adding another guitar in there. Can't see the need for 3 guitars at all. Even Maiden don't need 3 guitars.

Agree on both counts.  I like the three amigos, but yeah, they don't need 3 at all.

Malmsteen Aussie tour.  Fuck I wish Ripper was still singing, I'd be there in a flash.  Saw him with Doogie quite a few years back and it was a good show.

I like the music but find Eric's voice a bit weird these days and I can't work out why. Still, I quite like this. I have been listening to some bluesier stuff just recently.

Vinnie Moore's Red Line Rider album sounds in a similar vein but better.

I have such indifference for that.

Never heard of that. Is there a vocalist? Who?

Edit: Youtubed a track from the Vinnie Moore. End Of The Rainbow I think. Pretty crappy.

Well that's just it.  Honestly, I never checked anything out after their debut, which was disappointing to say the least. I think the only song that caught my ear was Addicted To That Rush. I didn't even think it was that great, but compred to the rest of that album, it was the only stand out.

Only two songs from Mr Big really caught my attention.  "Addicted to that Rush" is a great song, and the other was "Strike Like Lighting" from the movie Navy Seals.

I want nothing to do with those ballads that they did.

Holy shit at the "Edge of Thorns" ripoff. That was no accident.

I love me some power ballads, but "To Be With You" is unbearably bad. I absolutely loathe it.

I thought the first three albums (Mr. Big, Lean Into It and Bump Ahead) were good to great and Hey Man was decent to good.  I even liked some of the ballads but To Be With You was horrendous from the beginning. I was never keen on the Kotzen albums and the reunion didn't really klick with me either.
Must've been Kwyji sending all the wrong songs.   ;D
