Voodoo Circle - Raised On Rock (2018)

Omg, what a blatant Whitesnake ripoff. I can't believe it, but they somehow pulled it off, with all its signature Sykes riff, fills and harmony leads. It's competently executed and i like it, but it's one brazen homage. The first half mimics the 1987 album and the second half goes back to earlier stages of Coverdales career.
I'm not saying it's great or anything, but it's fun, finding out what song they're stealing from.

It reminded me, I haven't heard from Sykes for ages. It's about time for him to step up and release a new album.

Enjoyed it. The ripoffs are a bit brazen and jarring but they are ok when they are a bit more subtle about it. The Shake My Tree rip-off is a bit obvious.

The singer is a bit one dimensional.

Yes, half of the songs are too obvious. The most shameless one is "Where Is World We Love", being "Is This Love" with a slightly different vocal line. I can agree with your assessment about the singer, but sometimes he's really nailing it.

For some reason I really just like the sound of these guys, but this one is pretty meh. At least they do have their own sound unlike every other Frontiers project. Hopefully the rest isn't as soft.

Can we get another Magnificent album already? That album was full of cheesy love songs but they were so well written and performed, and of course Michael Eriksen on vocals being amazing. Definitely a diamond in the rough. There are good bands on the Frontiers label, but what's with all the garbage that gets posted here all the time? Who is writing that shit, and how and why is it getting the greenlight? Is Frontiers a multimilllion dollar company that can afford such losses? These bands surely are not making any money for the label. I understand that even a band as good as The Magnificent probably didn't sell too many albums, but why aren't they throwing their money at them to make more music? That was fucking awful, wolfking.
