I've only heard the Sunstorm and First Signal albums. The rest didn't even pass the single test. I generally agree on those two albums though.
The Sunstorm one was solid, and had some edge to it, I still got over it quickly though. Might still give it another listen. The First Signal album seemed promising from the first single, but I found it mostly bland and soft even for standard Frontiers fare.

Yeah, pretty much this.  The first First Signal album was a great piece of melodic rock, the new one is just that, so bland and generic it almost makes me sick to be honest.

2 albums, 20 albums, it all just blurs together into "Frontiers medley" anyway.

I think there would actually be quite a lot I'd miss.  I think input from all of us we would come up with something decent.  Just depends which way you go with it, the samey one you're talking about would be a hoot.

I've decided the album cover will be a factory production line of fake dog poop. If that's not the perfect metaphor, I don't know what is.

If I were to make a serious one, a lot of it would probably be softer than your tastes.

Yeah, I thought yours would be softer and I wouldn't have any Stan Bush on mine, so we would have to have one each which would be personalised.  A collective one we would just have to submit a certain number of songs each.  I don't think I'd have much on it from anything over the last couple of years either.

If I get some time this week I might come up with something.

I think I'd still probably take most 1989 dross over Frontiers' current best though.

I think there's only been one Frontiers album this year that didn't let me down. There have been many promising lineups of musicians recently, but they're not delivering the goods.

Inglorious, so not the typical Frontiers production line style of album, but straight up hard rock. The second half of the album could have been better, but there are great rockers in the first half.

Shit, after I turned the Ted Poley off after song four with that dirty Issa bitch, I decided to go back and listen to the rest of the tracks, and surprisingly, everything after that song is pretty damn good, given the style.  Better than the Defiants I think.

I wouldn't say it's generic (especially not any more than anything else in this thread ), but it is hard rock, with some of the songs in the second half being a bit heavier towards metal. Probably not your thing anyway.
