I'm checking out a couple of tracks on YT from a new album called Self Defence from band Ozone.  Features Slamer and Overland plus a couple of others.  Quality Slamer stuff, will have to check the full thing I think.

Funny you should mention that album - snuck in a quick listen this morning.

Good album - both Overland and Ousey (esp) can be a bit love/hate for people with their vocal sound.  I've gone off Ousey (not ouzo  :metal ) a bit over the years I must admit.  But overall it's a strong album with a few standout songs.  Sorta mid 80's ranking there after one listen.

Yeah, I'll add it to the list.

I've listened to the Kelly Keeling too, I really really like this quite a lot.  Might have to buy a copy.  Generic and nothing new, but well done AOR.

New Aldo nova track from his autobiographical rock opera thing.

It's not great but not a total write off. It is missing a ripping guitar solo like those on Blood on the Bricks. How has this man not made music in the last 25 years?

I need to get out some Aldo Nova at some point -back in the day I wasn't sure what the fuss was about.  I remember seeing an interview with him and Jon Bon Jovi where Jon is talking about how Aldo helped him out etc......that pecking order didn't last long.

I find a lot of Aldo's music to be solid, but nothing special.  Like Wolf, not really into this one though.

Solid, although not enough to really interest me in the album. JLT still sounds great.

I actually found it at JB and just picked it up on a whim.  It's really solid AOR, and the production is quite good.  Reminds me a bit of the Fergie Frederiksen.

Yeah, it's that similar style of melodic rock, which is why it appeals to me. I still really enjoy that last Frederiksen album.

I listen to it from time to time.  Once I got over that it pretty light, it's an enjoyable bunch of songs.

The thing I like about this Keeling album, is that every track is solid melodic rock.  There's no token generic ballad in there.

Damn ballads! I've got nothing against ballads, but I find the ballads on these modern albums to be generally bland. I don't mind one or two, but too many albums are dragged down by being like 50% ballads.

I still have to catch up on that previous Find Me album too. Looking forward to the new one.

Yeah, I don't mind the ballads, but sometimes the cheese factor can get a bit much.

That Find Me album is worth it too, good stuff.

I wouldn't say disappointment... just won't quite meet the level of aweomesauce of the debut.  I'm not expecting it to, so I won't be disappointed.

This one is a cracker IMO, best out of the three we've heard.  Yes, it's nothing new, it reminds me of a mix of the song The Revenge and Turn All Into Gold.  I will say though, it's great to hear Magnus do a bit of an old school longer type instrumental section, that makes me happy, it's been missing for a while.
