Oh FFS Melodic Rock. :lolpalm: Total ass kissing review of zero value. Who can even take these reviews seriously?

I use to, but it's just getting a bit much now, and is even turning me off.

Russell Allen's new band/project Level 10 is pretty good. A bit generic, but a billion times better than Adrenaline Mob, although that's not hard to achieve.

Idon't go there much these days. All the characters are gone - we can't have a heated debate as someone's feelings might be hurt if they've had a sense of humour bypass.
But hte reviews have become a joke, but they always were for Andrew's friends' bands.

And I just find Martennsson's stuff samey and lacking in variety and that magic dust. Maybe it's the characterless guitar sound. Everything is too perfect and a bit sterile.

Listening to that now -not as poor as I expected from the samples , but also pretty unspectacular.  It's decent enough but also the sort of stuff decent musos/writers could dial in pretty easy.   At first listen I'd rate it around 75% .

Ever since I relocated here the site has gone downhill fast  ;D ::) :hat

I'd probably rate it the same. Some songs are typical Frontiers filler, but there are some great songs as well. I don't know if I like their "Bad Company cover" yet. It's a bit too blatant for sure though.

Just had a listen to the new Harem Scarem for the first time.  I'm not sure if I like it or not.  One minute I think it's good and then the next I think it's below par.  Seems simple and solid like the last Harry Hess solo album, which I really liked.

Peterik / Scherer - Now this sounds like my kind of thing. The only thing that bugs me is the ridiculous pitch correction on the vocals.

Sounds like your solid Karlsson songwriting.  Out in April.  Sounding a lot heavier than the first album.

It does sound heavier, and that's a good thing. I liked the first album well enough. I do like her voice a lot, but if I'm being honest, I'm not even paying attention to this without Kiske.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related

Haven't listened yet, but the last album seriously lacked Amanda. Hopefully this one is more balanced.

I think that's for most to be honest.

Samples give off a much more balanced approach.  I never noticed how much each sang on the first album.  Seemed balanced enough to me.

None of the songs they've released has grabbed me so far, but I'll definitely be checking out the full album. I like these musicians, and I like the style.

I thought the same with the first two songs, but I really like this one.  Best one they have released so far for sure. I have it on pre order.

I agree this is by far the best of the bunch. I'll probably warm to it after a few more listens.

So I've read some of you pimping Europe from time to time. Now I have not heard a single Europe song since their first album. Other than their great cover of Love To Love, of course. Anyway, new album. Cool name. New video!

Now I have not heard a single Europe song since their first album.

Introducing TAC..............the only man on the planet to have never heard The Final Countdown  :lol

I pretty much agree about the new stuff though.  I doubt there's been too many of us pimping modern day Europe - I haven't bought a Europe album since the early 90's.   I just don't like the retro style they're attempting and I don't think it suits Tempest's voice either.   He may wish to sing other stuff but his voice best suits melodic rock/metal.  And Norum.........    He put out a shredding album with Face The Truth and I've barely liked a thing he has done since in or out of Europe.......really lost what made him great.

As far as Europe stuff that you'd like Tim........a track here and there off TFC, Out OF This World and Prisoners In Paradise but I'd have a listen to Wings of Tomorrow.  You may well like it.

The Final Countdown wasn't their first album?
I thought it was. I had it back in the day. But that's the only album I had from them.

OK then...............in that case you may like their first two (TFC was their third).  They were more a metal/heavy rock band (mostly sans keyboard) prior to The Final Countdown which I suppose is their "sell out" album.   I think both of the first two got mentions in my Best Of lists.

So you have the self titled debut '83 , Wings of Tomorrow '84 and then The Final Countdown '86.

Here's a sample from Wings of Tomorrow which is heavy enough for 1984.
