I just have a soft spot for this band.  Love the atmosphere of the songs, the melodies, Robert's amazing guitar work and Lars vox.  Can't wait.
Yea me to. Simpel melodies with great production is always a soft spot for me!

Can't listen to the trailer yet because i'm in the middle of nowhere with a potato as internet provider.

All kinds of  :tup for this release from me.

Sounds pretty much the same as the last two, but I ain't complaining.

No kidding.  Nothing to compelling there.  It's about as powder puff as you can get from Frontiers.  Not bad by any stretch, but not anything that stands out.

This. Just too perfect. No excitement.

Allen Lande preview. First track sounds exactly like the Elize Ryd song from the 1st Avalon album. Nice to hear Russell singing rather than shouting but its all so familiar.

edit - listened to the whole thig now and it's as shit as expected. Tolkki needs to retire again.

This is so disappointing.  Where's the magic of the other albums, where's the atmosphere, where's the power, where's the uniqueness?  The songs all sound so familiar and Tolkki's writing style is way too one dimensional these days.  The second song is about the 60th time he's rewritten the Strato song Paradise.  His melodies are just so novice like and immature for someone of his history.

Sorry Frontiers, love your work, but taking this project from Karlsson and giving it to Tolkki is one of the greatest fuckups you've done, and I hope it gets the backlash it deserves.  I wish Tolkki did go away forever like he said he was going to a few years ago.

I just had a listen online to Tolkki's Angels of the Apocalypse, and what a load of shit.  Definitely the worst thing he has ever put out.  How the fuck does he seem to make these amazing singers sound so shit.  Terrible.

Meh, I didn't think the other Allen/Lande albums were anything standout either, even though this sounds a bit worse. I noticed there were no harmonies or parts where they were singing together in these snippets, with poor production even for a Frontiers album.
Only King could mis-spell a LETTER.
Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

Tolkki's ears have gone obviously. Have you heard the Ring Of Fire album he ruined recently? Decent album, sounds like ass.

Yeah, I really enjoyed that album but he made is sound terrible.  Must have been jealous of TMac so he made his guitar sound like cardboard.

Latest from Karlsson's Facebook re the Allen/Lande. Thought he was gonna spill the beans but unfortunately not.

"I get a lot of questions about the new ALLEN/LANDE album. I can’t answer all the emails and messages so I write here instead. I’m not involved in the new album in any way and don’t know anything about it. I had so much fun making the first three albums and it was an honor to work with two of the best singers in the world! I wish Jorn, Russell and the guys all the best for the future! I think it’s impossible to get enough of their amazing voices!"

Well, he's wrong there... I've had enough of anyone singing for Tolkki.

I'm pretty sure Karlsson wouldn't be allowed to comment because he would be on some sort of contract with his involvement on the Frontiers roster.  He would definitely have his opinions, but we will never know, unless he doesn't work for Frontiers anymore.

It's good to see it's obviously not just us that are pissed about this.  Hopefully it shows in the hype and the reception of this album compared to the first three.

New Soto song clip;

Pretty bloody ordinary, but better than the Orlando song I spose.  Sounds like a song that didn't make the cut on Gus G's solo album.

This ain't looking good compared to Damage Control.

I barely even bother with new releases any more for health reasons - if I hear a memorable song I think I'll have a heart attack.

Not impressed so far. I just don't like the modern metal guitar sound I guess. What happened to the days where you could tell who was playing just by  their rhythm guitar sound?

Yeah, it's just so plain and generic, I expect more from Soto.

Its not bad. I find it a bit like Night Ranger's Somewhere In California. Several nods to their earlier works in there. Mark/Marcie has a great voice.

I loved it.  man the harmonies were fantastic.  I've always been a big fan of Bruce Gowdy's work with Stone Fury and World trade so of course I loved his playing on this album.

World trade was a more proggy outfit lead by Billy Sherwood of Yes fame.

Im new at forum and big fan of melodic rock. Do any of you know Broken Arrow? They from Slovenia (like me haha) and play AOR. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OIimWlp41C0 Here is a little of the album which was released last year.  If you will like it and wanna buy cd buy it from bend not from other pages cuz there is much more expensive.

Two or three tracks I'll check out a second time  :-\

I agree.  I think I had my rose-colored headphones on the first time I listened to it.  Subsequent listens didn't do much for me.  Doubt I'll go back to it.

Now, where are those best-of lists you promised me for Tad Morose and Talisman?

I'm having a few days off from pimping music..............listening to DSOTM for the first time  ;D

It seems my song ratings for Tad Morose have vanished , so for the older stuff I'm going to have to go back and give it a listen to refresh the memory before I send you a list.  Talisman is a bit easier - could do that off the top of my head.

Gimme a few days - how many songs do you want from each?   We're looking at say 4 albums from Tad Morose and 7 from Talisman.
