I totally lost it at that point.  Something about the way that line was kind of shoved into the background of the scene.  He made a big deal about trying to pull the tablecloth off the cool way, and then when he did it, everybody else moved on and in the background he's still trying to sound triumphant.  :lol

I always loved how their slogan was "We're ready to believe you", and they hooked Dana up to a bunch of lie detection equipment.  :lol

There are many perks that come with being the mother of a living god.  I'm sure he will supply for us a magnificent apartment.  And perhaps a car and free parking.

I don't think Ghostbusters 2 is that bad.  Doesn't quite capture the magic of the first one, but Vigo the Carpathian is awesome.

On a mountain of skulls
In the castle of pain

What is will be no more
Now is the season of evil!

Why has no one created a cult for Vigo? Maybe I should.

Guys, I don't get how you see any redeeming qualities in GB2.  I think it's almost as bad as Grease 2.

Ick, coming into a thread about Ghostbusters and quoting the terrible sequel is like doing the same with Caddyshack.

It has some good quotes, scenes, and I like the villain. Probably the line I quote most when asked a question with a definitive yes answer:

"ls the atomic weight of cobalt 58.9?"

But Caddyshack 2 was completely horrible.  Jackie Mason is no Rodney Dangerfield, and everything else was pretty lame anyway.  I just don't see what's so horrible about Ghostbusters 2.  There were a number of legitimately funny scenes and lines, a great bad guy, and it was a true sequel in that it continued and expanded upon the original story; it didn't just serve up more of the same.

There's nothing wrong with it. Everyone just jumped on the bandwagon forever ago.

I grew up watching both films and the animated series. There is nothing wrong with any of them.

Strangely enough, GB2 is one of the first films I remember seeing in theaters. The scene where Vigo's painting possesses Janosz terrified me. I ran screaming from the theater. Take into consideration that I was 3 at the time :P

I didn't even realize there was a hating GB2 bandwagon.  I always thought it was cool, not as good as the original of course but still good in it's own right.  Then again I may just be viewing it through nostalgia goggles.  I was around 9 when it came out, saw the trailer in the theater, got super hyped, saw it in the theater, bought the soundtrack cassette, jammed out to the Bobby Brown song, etc.

GB2 is so crazy it's completely awesome. Is it a legitimately good movie like the first one? No but that doesn't mean it can't be enjoyed. The cheese factor makes it awesome.

There's no bandwagon.  It's just that most people don't like it.

If you guys like it, then great.  But I have tried very, very hard to like it and I can't.  I just don't see anything about it TO like.  It's in the same vein as other shitty sequels like the aforementioned Caddyshack 2 and Grease 2.

This. I don't know what's wrong with it. It's not as good as the first one, but it's not bad.

Go ahead and watch it if you've never seen it.  Some people like it.  You may be one of them.

It follows the exact same format as the first one.

1. They're not Ghostbusters.
2. "Proving grounds" ghost - first bust.
3. Now they're Ghostbusters.
4. Ghostbusting montage.
5. Reveal immortal badass causing ghostage.
6. Research/study said badass.
7. Jail.
8. Finale involving extremely large character.

The second one is the first one with jokes that aren't quite as clever.
