I've never seen GB, but I know the whole plot from reading people's nostalgic articles about it.

I don't have all sorts of cash to use to rent movies people are nostalgic about.

Also, my dad grew up in the 80s, but he doesn't care about anything that existed then, so it's not like he has an assortment of old movies for me to watch and enjoy or anything.

Yeah but it's Ghostbusters, and it's not a nostalgic movie. It's stood the test of time and is still great and still funny. To me, something nostalgic is something we remember being awesome as a kid, but upon viewing when grown up, it sucks balls. In fact, I'm pretty sure that's the very definition of nostalgia.

Too much hate for GB2. Its a good fun flick.

And yes, they've been trying to get part 3 going for sometime. Seems the word is that Murray is the sole hold-out.

Damn, a dude I went to high school with used to be able to recite Louis' whole speech about how he's "Vince Clorthos, keymaster of Gozer, in the 4th rectoconcilliation of the zydroni the traveller appeared as a giant moving slor, many slubs and zuuls new what it was to be roasted in the depths of the slor that day I can tell you" or whatever.  I wish I remembered it all.  :sadpanda:

I can't believe there are people that have not seen this movie.

And it sounds weird but I think the funniest line in the whole movie is from the maid in the hotel after the guys inadvertently attack her whilst going after Slimer:  Just seeing the maid crouching behind the cart amongst the flaming rolls of toilet paper and screaming "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOIN?"

Gets me every time.
I'd kill myself for you.

When I went to the rerelease last month, that got one of the biggest laughs of the night.

Yeah, Real Ghostbusters kicked ass. A classic of its time, like Ninja Turtles.

I threw on GB last night (with commentary) due to all the talk. I think the biggest laugh for me is Lewis' neighbor's reaction when she comes out of her apartment while the hellhound is busting loose. Perfect comedic timing.
