Decent video. I does kind of bug me when animation is obviously a live acted scene where they just race the outline of the people. Either be completely animated, or completely live, IMO.

This band seems to be pretty highly regarded around here. What are they like? And if I were to try them out which would be the best album to start with? Act III, right?
Cole: "Ow I just got hit in the balls"
Me: "How?"
Cole: "Well you know when you try to scratch your balls, and you scratch too hard?
I'll admit sometimes I want to listen to Dragonforce.

I don't know. I got into them fine through Act III. Once you are a fan, then you can get the other albums and start to unravel the story

It's too hard to decide between Act II and Act III, boh are amazing.

Start with Act II so you can get ever more excited with Act III. Once you're hooked, go back to Act I and listen for the storyline.

You're in for a threat. I rate Act 1 9/10, Act II 10/10 and Act III 9/10. So yeah, good times are about to roll  :D

Wait, was this never posted?

Exclusive Fanclub Membership for $125 including a lifetime pass for concerts

https://thedearhunter.com/fan-club-package/
Quote
THE DEAR HUNTER
OFFERS LIMITED EDITION LIFETIME FAN CLUB PACKAGE
STARTING APRIL 14

Only 250 available!

April 14, 2010 — THE DEAR HUNTER has been taking a much-deserved break after criss-crossing the U.S. for most of 2009 in support of their critically acclaimed ACT III: LIFE AND DEATH, which was released June 23 on Triple Crown Records. That doesn't mean they've stopped working though.

The band has been spending time putting together an extra special, super limited package for fans who sign up for a lifetime fan club membership. For $125, starting on April 14, 250 lucky fans will receive:

ACT I: THE LAKE SOUTH, THE RIVER NORTH and ACT II: THE MEANING OF, & ALL THINGS REGARDING MS. LEADING on clear vinyl with brand new, never-before-seen artwork encompassing both ACT I and ACT II.
A download card that will contain several never-before-heard alternate versions of songs from ACT I and ACT II.
A new digital-only EP featuring 3 brand new songs (unrelated to ACT I-III), available only to members of the fan club upon purchase.
A lifetime "The Dear Hunter Passport," which guarantees entry into any show, anytime, anywhere in the world. Specifically, a laminated pass with their picture on it. *
A personal thank you in the liner notes of ACT IV, which is currently in the works.
A hand-written letter from singer/songwriter/producer/multi-instrumentalist Casey Crescenzo.
A signed poster of the artwork for the limited edition EP.
To make it even more special, there will be ONE Golden Ticket placed in the vinyl packaging that guarantees the recipient a private performance by THE DEAR HUNTER anywhere in the U.S. of their choosing, whether it's in a club, living room, back yard, school gym, etc.

"After the past 4 years of operating on the standard record cycle system," explains Crescenzo, "we had been searching for a way to step out of our box. As soon as this idea was presented, we were offered one creative opportunity after another—re-examining our approach to the visual nature of projects from the beginning of the band at the same time we opened the creative floodgates on new material in our home studio. We have always held our fans and friends in such high regard, so offering something special like this is truly exciting, and it gives fans a chance to become an even bigger part of what this band is about."

The band's website, Facebook, Myspace and Twitter pages will feature a video greeting by Casey Crescenzo, which will include information about the package as it's made available.

* Minimal restrictions will apply (i.e. festivals, etc.). Entry to shows will be done on an RSVP basis, but due to the limited nature of this offer, it won't cause much restriction.

I bit the bullet and signed up after seeing this on another forum.

According to Casey, they only have 80 left so for those of you who are thinking about getting it, do it up soon. Apparently, after cost, the remainder of the money made from this is going to help fund Act IV.

For those of you who weren't aware and care to know, the bio on the official site somewhat confirmed what was speculated amongst fans for a while. Nate Patterson and Andy Wildrick bowed out of the band this year.

Casey took the opportunity to shed a little light on things over at the dear hunter forum, https://www.lakeandtheriver.com

Quote
Nate left in january I believe, and Andy left when my brother and I moved.

Quote
Nate wished to pursue his other musical endeavors and remain closer to home, and Andy felt being in a band didn't have any future security and is returning to school.

Quote
I've come to do my best and stop caring about these situations. When the first group of people skipped town, Erick stayed and I knew that even if things got tough, or if we were met with intense obstacles, I had a companion who I could trust. In watching these last two members leave, and seeing my brother and Josh stay, I know I now have 2 more. We aren't going to add members, we aren't going to fool around with any of that band drama nonsense anymore. We just want to write music and record it and play it, and we have no choice but to do that, and we are blessed to be in that position. Andy and Nate didn't feel aligned with that mentality, and everyone is better being in a place they want to be.

everyone knows The Dear Hunter records will still be recorded and released even if its just me tracking everything to cassette and mailing it out to people I think will like it, so lets not dwell on the chemical makeup of the band, and just enjoy the result we get from the ingredients whether they change or remain constant. If you love those guys, tell em you do, and follow what they release as I am sure it will be worth listening to. As far as the dear hunter, forget who is in it, including myself, and just listen

Holy shit, I'm really liking this band...but I'm not sure if I'm willing to spend $125 for this, even with saving money on shows (presumably) in the long run, that is, if they ever tour down south.
