Early ranking after 3 listens:

Blame Paradise
The Right Wrong
All is as All Should Be
Shake Me (Awake)
Beyond the Pale
Witness Me

Really digging Beyond Paradise, it feels completely different from anything they've ever done in the past.

Vinyl arrived this afternoon.

So jealous of you Chris. The write-up for every song is really extensive.

Any chance you've got pictures of the write-up for Blame Paradise?  I haven't actually seen it yet and I'm dying to see what it says!

it's in storage, although if you want, I can try and pull it out this weekend (likely Sunday) and take some and try and upload them.

Blame Paradise is amazing indeed! Not sure if I'm able to rank them yet, but lets try:

Blame Paradise
The Right Wrong
Witness Me
All is as All Should Be
Beyond The Pale
Shake me (awake)

I'm absolutely loving the first four tracks on this list. Shake me (awake) is pretty fun but a little cringy at times (but they're just haters anyway ;p) But yeah they managed to make a quality EP! It feels really solid and concise overall.

Honestly, the EP didn't do much for me. The Right Wrong, Beyond The Pale, and Shake Me (Awake) I enjoyed. Blame Paradise was too weird and hurt my ears. Witness Me and All Is As All Should Be were ok but seemed like they could have been polished more. Oh well.

Chicago show was great. Did the meet and greet and had an awesome time. Wish they would have played more from the ep, but was still a good set-list.

Next time, I'll definitely try to do the meet and greet. Was a great show, though I wish I hadn't ended up right in front of the monitors, it kind of destroyed the mix. :lol

Also, I was blown away by The Family Crest. I hadn't heard of them before; they are awesome.

Finally got around to listening to the EP and I really like it. Shake Me (Awake), Witness Me, and All Is As All Should Be are all great. Unfortunately though, Blame Paradise is the weakest one. The prompt was very cool, but the result is just the least interesting track here.

Can agree with this. Unfortunately the rest of the tracks do absolutely nothing for me.

Easily, The Right Wrong at #1 and Blame Paradise at #2 as far as I'm concerned. But of course, it's TDH so all the songs are pretty great.

Earlier in the tour they were also playing Blame Paradise, but for some reason it got dropped.  I'm hearing maybe something about Casey having issues singing it, but i'm not sure how accurate that is.

This would be a great gig! Saying that, BTBAM are my least favourite on the bill so I'd rather just have a TDH headline European tour. Seriously though, when are they gonna get their butts over here???

Er, they've been over here twice, headlining. Saw them both times, amazing gigs!

Well their last tour was only a handful of dates! I saw them and yes, they were amazing! That was nearly two years ago though.

Since then they've released Act V and the new EP.  They've done multiple US tours and although I know it's easier for them to tour over there, it sucks. So yea, i wasn't asking 'when are they gonna get their butts over here??', suggesting they've never played over this side of the world, period. I was saying 'It's been a long time, when are they gonna tour over here?'.

The last time they toured Europe must've been almost 3 years ago at least. Feels like they've set up an imaginary well at the edge of UK, they don't seem to be too afraid to tour UK every once in a while but rarely go any further.

This is just me being jealous as fuck of all the americans and brits, don't mind me  :P

Gosh, you're right, March 2016. Time really does fly!

And yeah that's fair enough, my misunderstanding probably comes from the fact that, as a fan since Act I, I spent many years frustrated that they never came here at all. :lol

If you haven't seen BTBAM live I'd give them a shot. Super tight band. Also, I've been to 3 or 4 BTBAM shows and am always surprised that their fan base is mostly comprised of hipsters. Never seen more plaid shirted, long bearded men, drinking Papst Blue Ribbon than I have at a BTBAM show.

I saw them live when they opened for DT way back when. I just don't like all the screaming. The music is great, just can't get past the vocals. I've tried on several occasions.

Copying from my post in the BTBAM thread: The Dear Hunter and Between the Buried and Me are apparently doing an exclusive split 7" vinyl EP where TDH covers "Rapid Calm" and Between the Buried and Me covers "The Tank". It'll be available exlusively to those who purchase The Tour Upgrade Bundle at the merch table before the show. Said bundle includes Act V, Automata 1, and a poster signed by both bands. You'll then get the EP mailed to you and a digital copy e-mailed to you. Then, to actually listen to the EP, you have to travel across Hyrule to reunite the Three Pieces of Triforce, rescue Princess Peach from her castle, defeat The Elite Four, Mark Ishtar, and Sephiroth, and then catch all 807 Pokemon. Weird way of doing things, but who am I to judge?

I'm sure that split, at least digitally will show up.

I mean to attend this show, but I'm a The Dear Hunter Lifetime Member and sent in an email to be put on the Guest List, so no ticket or VIP bundle at this point.

I've heard of the Dear Hunter, but never listened to them. I'll be seeing them live soon and wonder if there are certain songs that they are likely to play.  Maybe I'll just go to the show blind, so to speak, and see what I think of them then. But if I have time and they have a few predictable setlist choices, I wouldn't mind trying to be a little prepared.

Thanks! :)  Three songs in on the list, and it seems interesting - I think it'll make for a good show too.  I'm not really into the vocals, but I don't dislike them either, so they might grow on me.  The songs seem to start kind of abruptly, but maybe there's a transition on the albums.

I don't think they actually played much from the list of songs you gave - unless they did at the end of their set.  It was strange - towards the beginning of the first song my friend and I looked at each other and said that we thought it was going to be a really good set.  The second song, we both felt the same way.  The third song not so much, and pretty much every thing we heard from that point on had this kind of carnival music sound to it.  We hung in there for a good while, maybe 4-5 songs of that but it felt like an eternity so we finally bailed.  I don't know that I've ever had a set that I was pretty excited about at first go south quite like that before.  I will definitely give them another goat some point, but maybe they're just not my thing, or maybe it's certain albums.
