Act III would be perfect if it weren't for "Go Get Your Gun"
I disagree, the pacing and placement of the song are perfect, plus it's the only one that is more fun and upbeat like a couple of the songs on the other albums.

I'll admit sometimes I want to listen to Dragonforce.

well, in my mind, it doesn't fit with the tone of the record, and is a bit too sarcastic. I always skip it.

I think it's a good tune. I guess I could see why someone wouldn't like it though; it does kinda stick out a bit.

I'm really excited for these. Maybe even more excited than for Act IV. A project like this gives them a great opportunity to try new things out.

Going to see one of their one-off headlining shows tomorrow night!  :caffeine:

Looks like setlist is mostly Act III stuff, with a couple of Act II tunes thrown in, plus Owls 1 and a new White EP song!!!!!  :D :D :D :D :D

Setlist from last night's show:

- In Cauda Venenum
- Church and the Dime
- The Procession
- The Tank
- Life and Death
- Untitled 1 (with most of the opening band joining them on stage for some extra percussion)
- Dear Ms. Leading
- He Said He Had a Story
- The Thief
- Mustard Gas

then the band left and it was just Casey for:

- Owls
- They Only Know What They're Told (New song from the White EP)

Then part of the band came back for:

- Oracles of the Delhpi Express (Stripped down vinyl bonus download version)

Then full band for:

- Black Sandy Beaches
- Red Hands

About halfway through Red Hands, Erick invited everybody up onto the stage to sing along with them... probably ended up with about 30 or 40 people crammed on the stage surrounding the band and singing along.  It was pretty ridiculously awesome.

Then when the band was done they literally just hopped off the stage into the crowd to just hang out with everybody.  People were flocking around Casey, and I've already met and spoken to him a few times, so I didn't go bug him, but I did head back to the merch stand to pick up my clear vinyl from Conner and Max after the show.  It's a thing of beauty.  I'll post pics in a bit.  :D :D :D :D

Yup.  The Coheed tour ended like a week ago.  They're doing four headlining shows during the next week or two.  Last night's was in Brooklyn.

Yup.  Same as the regular version, except the fan club version is on clear vinyl (regular version is black vinyl)

Got into these guys a few months ago, and now I can say I'm a fan for life!  How I was missing out on such great music is beyond me.  I personally really like the flow of Act III, but agree with most that Act II is superior.  All of it is good though. :)

bump.

new split coming with the band The Felix Culpa

https://www.absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?p=77296442#post77296442

interesting approach there, having each band write music for the others to play.

That is indeed rather interesting. I've never really got into splits, but that one sounds quite fascinating.

One of my favorite TDH covers!  Casey said it was originally done as a joke at like 2 in the morning, but people liked it.  If I get the golden ticket I'm totally requesting that song in the set.

I got Act III on vinyl.  Almost got the I&II bundle, but Act III is my favorite (I think...it changes with Act II like every other month), plus price was an issue for me at the time.  Its soooooooo goooooooooooooooooooooood.

GO GET YOUR GUN GET YOUR GUN AND LETS FIND OUT WHAT IT DOES!
