If you suscribe to the mailing list, you receive 'Thin Air' off the new album. I'm downloading it right now.

*eargasme*

It's the Ann Further that I mentioned in the top 20 thread, but with a different title and even more awesome.

Edit: The two other previews on the site are awesome as well. Cannot wait :dangerwillrobinson:. Next month is going to be so amazing, with two of my absolute favorite bands coming with new albums :).

I know, but it really seems to be true this time :p. With pre-orders already going on and the record label promoting it.

I was kidding, but well, it took them only seven years... :P Really looking forward to it, I like A Natural Disaster very much so I'm curious what it will be like. And I guess if it has taken them so long, it's going to be polished to perfection.

But wow, 4 awesome releases within three weeks... Anathema, Pain of Salvation, The Pineapple Thief, and Porcupine Tree DVD. I'm going to need a 48-hour day or something in May.

Wish I could afford a 5.1 system :(. Am probably still buying the special edition to have the mix though. It's only 2 euro more and maybe sometime in the future I will be able to buy a 5.1 system :p.

Trust me, it's worth it. You get better at TF2 too cause you get directional hearing/warning ;)

But anyway, Thin Air is amazing! If the rest of the album is like this, it will be an easy contender for album of the year, against Pain of Salvation obviously (and The Pineapple Thief, Dark Tranquillity etc)

Until now I would call Jónsi's album the album of the year. Bit with PoS and Anathema coming up, it's going to be hard to keep that title :p.

I might be more exited for Anathema than for PoS, and that says a lot seeing I am a huge PoS fan.

That's only because you don't like Dark Tranquillity, and their new album is probably their best, and it's their 11th album ;D

The song 'Dreaming Light' has been released. Not going to listen to it though. Although I am hearing nothing but good things about it.

I'm only on the third song so far, but I'd say something between Alternative 4 and A Natural Disaster.

If I remember correct - you like the old Anathema better, right?

Yes, Eternity particularly. Although I thought the Hindsight version of Angelica was very good and the version of Are you There made me think more of the A Natural Disaster.

On the note of Anathema, I actually got into these guys in 2001. A guy in my class found out I liked metal and came to school a few days later and handed me Alternative 4 and Judgement (which is kinda funny, cos those albums are really not metal). At the time, Judgement clicked, but Alternative 4 not so much. I LOVED Shroud of False / Fragile Dreams, played those two songs to death, but didn't like the rest of the album, so I didn't copy it, and, for some reason, didn't even bother getting a copy of those two songs.

Despite liking A Fine Day to Exit and A Natural Disaster as well, I've never actually considered checking out that album again, until this week. Listened to most of the tracks on youtube, and it now sounds like it'd be my favourite album of theirs.

And I had completely forgotten how amazing those first two tracks are. I literally hadn't heard them or thought of them at all in about eight and a half years, but on first listen, I remembered every tiny detail. I'm still baffled that I somehow ended up completely forgetting about them.
