I've never heard these guys, but I've heard a lot of talk all around about this album. Is it really that good? I'm tempted to pre order it...

PoS being nr1 is a mockery against the music-industry.

I got 1361 plays with Anathema atm, placing them at nr6.
Pretty sure they will pass DT and Dredg soon though. :)

With all the publicity, perhaps you two should have waited a bit later to do your top 20 Anathema songs :lol

It's pretty good. I don't know what to make of these guys, though. This type of music is new to me.

They have changed styles quite a bit. Be sure to also check out at least Judgement and Alternative 4.

Lucky!

If only I didn't live as far from London as I do.  And if only I didn't have an exam that day.

Hard choice between Anathema and Transatlantic, no?

Cool! They were amazing the times that I saw them live, enjoy!

And I would rather see Anathema again than Transatlantic  :-X.

SO far WHBWH is my number one album of 2010.
space cadet, pull out.

Yea that's probably the only contender this year, unless the new OSI is really, really good. Or Opeth releases something.

It's so hard to balance all the new albums I have - 65days, Anathema, PoS plus all the new bands i've discovered.

Whenever I listen to Pressure, I get quite the Planet Telex vibe.

Or since I heard Pressure first of those two songs, it's actually more the other way around. But since Planet Telex was released first, it feels more correct to phrase it like that.

Totally digging We're Here Because We're Here still. Man this album rocks. It's got such a cool atmospheric/symphonic/post-rock feel to it, and I love it.

After several plays, my conclusion is that this is a top10 (maybe 5 even) album amongst my favorites.
I love the earlier Anathema-albums, but this album doesn't sound like anything else they've done.
The positive energy is overwhelming, the atmosphere and the emotions are amazing, and overall this is a fantastic record.
I doubt there will be another album released this year that can top this, but again... Agalloch are working on a new album.
So you never know. :P
