When you get all excited how prog the background music on TV is ("holy shit, odd meters!"), and you then realize that it just plain skipped.

True story here, my 20 year old niece made a facebook post about her professor giving her shit when she used a Monty Python reference in class. Being the good uncle I am, I went to respond approvingly, abbreviating Monty Python as MP. Then backspaced, deleted MP, and typed out Monty Python in fear that she would confuse it with Mike Portnoy. She has never heard of DT.

Another Monty Python fan! Excellent! Sometimes I make a crack, referring to some obscure MP skit (not necessarily a movie), and people look at me like I'm a nut. In fact, my son the other day asked me about an old stuffed parrot his great-granny used to have in her house before she died. I said I didn't know where it is, and that it might've gotten thrown away. He honestly said, "so the parrot is no more?"

My wife cracked up, but my 13 year old is now totally convinced his dad is crazy (not that he needed any more evidence).
