it comes off as very "let the guilty hang" to make statements like that.
I'm not speaking for the modding staff as a whole, but I'm OK with that.

And it's not like it's a huge problem anyway.  If they can't use the Modify button, and they know it, then just give your posts a once-over before hitting the "post" button.  Sheesh.

Well I'm not simply OK with it, and wish it would get fixed, it's really not that bad. And we even have the preview post feature.

My only point is that not having the modify button really is a creativity bummer..its easy to say "just dont make a mistake" but it happens..I just screwed up , didnt realize I was typing in the middle of another persons post when quoting.. and I cant fix it.. BUT!!!!!! My only request was more along the lines of: Can one get it back with a year of good behavior? like getting points of ones license and getting their license back.. can there be a period of time of punishment.. must it really be forever?? I know for me, that I never went personal, ever tried to hurt anyone, I was more banned for "doubles posts" or the perception of going of topic on world events, when I could easily argue I was on subject always ,just that others didnt understand my angle on the issue or how the variables on the story I was discussing was the actual macro subject..etc..

all I am simply asking for is  can I be reviewed and forgiven after a period of time?, I have requested for all  my posts to be reviewed and read in context as it would show I never was nasty or not a nice person to another here..granted I was pushed to have to back up everything so much that it became overwhelming.. and a tad shall we say frantic.. but I though that we all did enjoy debating.. to me it was fun.

Im an adult.. and I am ok with a punishment.. I just would like to think its not forever and that it can be reviewed and good behavior be factored in..

Peace

I'd also like to point out that I was banned for giving a valid opinion backed by many people around the world...as long as we are complaining about our bans.

...as long as we are complaining about our bans.

We're not.  "Forum suggestions" is just that:  A place where people can post valid suggestions.  It is not a place for complaining about mod decisions.  But thanks for causing the thread to be locked.

As far as the original post:  There is no ban repeal/appeal process.  Thanks for the suggestion.  No plans to change the current system, as it usually appears to work just fine.

As for the off-topic issue of P/R bans:  There is no "system glitch."  The "banned from P/R" user group has some of the permissions removed that are otherwise granted to other members of the forum in good standing.  It was not intentional when I initially set up that group that the group would not have permission to modify posts.  But upon realizing after the fact that I unintentionally set it up that way, I am inclined to leave it.  On those rare occasions where a user who has repeatedly broken rules needs to be banned from the P/R section of the board or temporarily or permanently banned from the entire forum, the consequence is that that user loses some or all posting privileges.  If you don't want to lose privileges, don't break the rules.  The vast majority of users on these forums are able to post just fine and not lose any privileges whatsoever.  That tells me that despite some very rare instances where mistakes are made or special circumstances require a special review of issues, the system works just fine.

Thanks again for bringing these issues to our attention.
