Jamse LaBrie was absolutely amazing. :lol :lol :rollin

And I love Mangini's accent when he says "hahhhrd". And Jordan gave his signature phrase. Gotta love DT. :hat
Only King could mis-spell a LETTER.
Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

LaBrie's just gave me a vision of who should play him in a movie about his life..

Also LaBrie is probably the first rock star ever to utter the phrase "This is my forklift"

my first thought: "DT has been in LA for the past week? WHY AM I JUST LEARNING THIS? "
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

Holy crap!  James LaBrie is the rock star version of Michael Scott! :rollin
"All great works are prepared in the desert, including the redemption of the world. The precursors, the followers, the Master Himself, all obeyed or have to obey one and the same law. Prophets, apostles, preachers, martyrs, pioneers of knowledge, inspired artists in every art, ordinary men and the Man-God, all pay tribute to loneliness, to the life of silence, to the night." - A. G. Sertillanges

These guys always have me rolling in their videos.  I loved the other one too where they were talking about the deluxe set as well.

I'd love to go see DT this year, but living in AL the only real close show to me is at the Tabernacle and after going there for the last progressive nation I have to say that that venue is utter crap.  I don't ever get to go to concerts, and that was like my 3rd ever, but man... it just sucked.  People sitting in front of me that had tickets for far behind me yet staff doesn't make them move, seats aren't staggered enough for short people like me to see when they stand up in front of you (I'm disabled and can't stand for very long at a time),  speakers were HORRIBLE quality and played WAY too loud to the point where even with ear plugs it was still too loud.  I couldn't hear James, Jordan or John M. at ALL the entire show either though this was probably due to the horrible distortion from the speakers above the stage (basically right in front of the people in the balcony's face) from being so over-driven.

I was hoping for a show in Tennessee or something like that, but they decided to go back to the Tabernacle.  :sadpanda:  Would be nice if they went to the BJCC instead, but I guess DT may not be able to pull that kind of venue.  The sound quality was amazing when I saw KISS there with my dad last year, and the seats have a huge stagger so even my short self could see sitting down when people stood up in front of me.   I guess I'll have to live vicariously through Youtube videos this year.

I love how in some interviews, James is like the most serious guy on the planet, but in other videos, he's a complete comedian, lol. He's quite a character!

This is my forklift. There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My forklift is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my forklift is useless. Without my forklift, I am useless. I must drive my forklift true. I must drive straighter than my enemy, who is trying to kill me. I must fork him before he forks me. I will. Before God I swear this creed: my forklift and myself are defenders of my country, we are the masters of our enemy, we are the saviors of my life. So be it, until there is no enemy, but peace. Amen.
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

Was I the only one that was waiting for JP to start rocking out? I think he was holding the guitar only because his biceps look better that way.

I say the show should start with JLB coming onto the stage in a forklift, ala Rob Halford whenever JP plays Hell Bent for Leather.  They could even play JLB's speech to set it up in the intro video.

When your souls turn inside out
Have you questioned all the madness you invite?
What your life is all about

Somebody should Photoshop a front of a forklift with two shovels.

They kept using the word "production."  I feel like this is gonna be something more than just the band playing with a video screen behind them.  Maybe there's an actual clown on a unicycle, or a dude walking across a tightrope?

The first half of your post is exactly what I have been thinking for a while now. We may not be wrong to expect something more than a traditional show this time.
