Strange lump (ingrown pimple?) in my ear lobe...

It feels like a pimple but is located dead center in the lobe so it isn't close enough to either external skin surface for me to attempt popping it. It's about 1/8 inch (3mm) or larger but definitely smaller than 1/4 inch (6.3mm). I tried WebMD and another message board and got nothing all that informing. Anyone here had experience with these?

Sounds exactly like what I had for a long time. In the lobe, sort of closer to the skull, and felt like a little ball attached inside there. Sometimes if I squeezed it it would sort of feel like it popped like a pimple, but it always stayed there.

They went away eventually though, and I'm not dead, so hopefully it wasn't anything too serious. :lol

Yup, I'm not sure exactly what it is either, but it usually goes away after a few days or so.

Glad to hear I won't die. Does anyone know where I may find more info on this? As stated in the OP, WebMD wasn't that thorough and I'd really like to just sterilize a needle/pin and gently puncture the lobe from the back side so I can drain it.

Yup, I'm not sure exactly what it is either, but big ingrown pimples usually go away after a few days or so. There are some natural treatment for pimple on earlobe that you can try. You can use honey, aloe vera or tea tree oil. Don't pop the pimple.

Have you had your ears pierced?  I had both my ears pierced and both have maybe the same or similar type of small lump, that appears to be similar to a pimple.  I always it was just a side effect of having a closed piercing since it's exactly where the hole closed on both ears.   I think you are fine.
