Has there been any mention of Ouya around here? Check it out: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ouya/ouya-a-new-kind-of-video-game-console
This thing has been up for 2 or 3 days and has already amassed 4.2 MILLION, and is still rising! It looks like a pretty interesting idea, but I don't know if it'll fly. Only time will tell I guess.
That looks cool. And a cheap console with games that are free to try is a win-win in my book.
See, that was my main problem with OUYA. The first thing I heard was that it would mandate the free-to-play model, which I absolutely hated. I think the free-to-play model (i.e. "here's a tiny shell of a game, if you want cool stuff that's 99 cents, or you can just skip the game and go right to the end credits for $4.99") is killing gaming.
I was relieved when I found out that the required "free" thing could just be a demo. Anyway, it seems like a stellar idea, and I'd give but it doesn't really seem like they need my help.

Anyway, I'm thinking of picking up Blocks That Matter.
EDIT: Also, make sure to grab The Binding of Isaac on Steam if you haven't yet. It's frustratingly cheap and it's definitely the best value for my dollar I've ever gotten in gaming. I've put ~53 hours into it so far, and that doesn't seem to be slowing down.
EDIT2: Yep, got Blocks That Matter and Gish (the latter because it was $2.49 and I'm on a bit of an Edmund McMillen trip at the moment).
