Gorille85 - Unsolved Ideas of a Distorted Guest
WHAT THE FUCK!!!??????? Yeah so that's what I was basically thinking while listening to this song. It was a what the fuck this is awesome what the fuck. Sometimes I don't enjoy songs that are all over the place but i did enjoy this one. The female volcalist has some kickass clean and harsh vocals and the musicians are really something amazing throughout the whole song. It may be a random song but i think it does it's job in painting whatever pciture they wanted to project in this song.

:tup :tup Always good to see some love for Unexpect. You really should check out their latest album!

Star One is an Arjen Lucassen project, letting out his heavy side.  Only 2 albums - Space Metal (all about Sci Fi movies) and Victims of the Modern Age (all about futuristic/distopian movies).  Glad you enjoyed.  I'll enjoy my 4 points this round, cuz I'm pretty certain it ain't repeating itself for round 2.

Edit:  In case you didn't know, Human See, Human Do is Arjen's interpretation of Planet of the Apes.  Makes the song even more enjoyable IMO.

Sorry for not keeping up with my promise but school is really getting in the way right now so not much time for me to spend on this site. But anyway, here are the results for round two!!!!!!!!!!!! Also the descriptions or reasons why won't long this time since I didn't have time to write this and just wasted some writing this.  :-[

5
YtseBitsySpider - Stabbing the Drama by Soilwork
I just couldn't stop or get rid of the feeling of headbanging to this song while listening to it. I never got bored of it at all when I would listen to it.

DTVT - Fucking Hostile by Pantera
Well I have never been a big Pantera fan and have only heard a couple of songs from them. Mostly the ones everybody knows about but I had never heard this song. Thanks to this song, I really wish I would've listen to them more before. Is this song heavy as fuck??????? Yes.  :tup

Gorille85 - Vacuity by Gojira
I had heard of this band many times but never listened to one of their songs and this song was just badass from beginning to end. Made me feel angry when listening to it  >:( >:( >:( I also felt awesome while listening to it lol.

4
dethklok09 - Eversion by Dismember the Fallen
I only listen to bands like this once in a while because for some reason I can really get bored of them pretty fast. Now this band sounds awesome already with this just being what their debut EP or something like that??? Well I liked it bottom line and will definitively keep my eye on your friend's band of course.

The King in Crimson - The Egoism by Fleshgod Apocalypse
I only listen to technical death metal for the same reason as the one I stated above. When I listen to bands like this, I only usually listen to one song at a time and they have to be really good songs. This was one of those songs.

3
PuffyPat - Never Forgive, Never Forget by The Dear Hunter
Now this is a band I have seen quite a good number of people of this site talking about. This song was good but never really got me going   :omg: :omg: I am going to check them out more later and give them another chance to see if I will like them more.

zxlhko - 9 to 5 At the Morgue by Dog Fashion Disco
I have listened to Polkadot Cadaver before and really like them so I was very excited to listen to this song. I did like it but I don't know, but it just didn't click with me that much. Maybe I would enjoy it better if I listened to it or saw it live just like you said you did.

2
jingle.boy - Get the Fuck Out by Skid Row
Now the only reason why this song got a 2 is because I have never really liked or more like enjoyed listening to much to bands like these. I did enjoy this song more though than I usually do when listening to bands like this.

1
Yet again, not a single song received a 1. Let's keep it that way.

Standings
10 -  Gorille85
9 -
8 - zxlkho, dethklok09, YtseBitsySpider
7 - The King in Crimson, DTVT
6 - jingle.boy
5 - PuffyPat

Whoa, three-way tie for 6.

For the next round, send me a song you would listen to on a grey, rainy day if that makes any sense to you.

That song is not an accurate representation of them at all. That was part of the something that they did called the Color Spectrum where they made an EP for each color on the color spectrum with the music corresponding to each color. I recommend checking out Act III: Life and Death, but any of the Acts will do.

jingle.boy - Get the Fuck Out by Skid Row
Now the only reason why this song got a 2 is because I have never really liked or more like enjoyed listening to much to bands like these. I did enjoy this song more though than I usually do when listening to bands like this.

Don't misinterpret this quasi rant as anything other than advice/a request.  I'm not bothered by the dislike or the low ranking - I already said that I was gonna score low this round, but it's a *song* roulette, not a band roulette.  Listen with open ears kid, otherwise you aren't likely gonna enjoy much of what I have.  Ok?  Lose your preconceived notions of what kind of music you think you're gonna hear from "bands like these".  And btw, while Skid Row's s/t album is glam, Slave to the Grind was as heavy as anything from the 90s.  You don't feel like pushing people to the ground after hearing screams of "GET THE FUCK OUT"?  Oh well.

Round 3 sent.

Yeah that is what I though as well so that is why I told myself to go check out some of their other stuff afterwards.

I did listen with to open ears and actually did enjoy it more than I usually do. Yuo are correct in that I shouldn't of said "bands like these", but since I didn't have time to write a better description for the song. Also just because it got a 2 doesn't mean I hate or it doesn't make me do anything, it just that were a couple of songs that I enjoyed more than that one. Also I think it's beacuse I always tell people to, "GET THE FUCK OUT!!!"

I should have 7 points, not 6.  2 in the first round, 5 in the second.
Sorry about that, I was in a hurry.

I've never in my near 33 years on Earth ever listened to a song because of the weather...namely because I almost always listen to albums in their entirety.  So I'm just going to send a song that fits the "rain" motif.  Ytse will approve of my submission.

Alrighty then. Here are the results for round three. The reasons why in this round will be shorter than ever before just because ok.

5
zxlkho - Forget Not by Ne Obliviscaris
It started off with some nice spanish guitar and then some violin came in. *For some reason I always like violins in lots of songs* Then when the drums would kick in, this song would just fire on all cylinders. The soft and slow moments I really would like to hear in a rainy day so yeah.

dethklok09 - Helena's Beat by Foster the People
This song has a great beat that I really enjoy. Once I listened to it I couldn't stop and it would get stuck in my head all day. I really like the chorus as well. A song to listen to to feel better on gray, gloomy days for me now.

4
PuffyPat - Wake Up, Decide by Karate
This is a great song to listen to on a rainy day. It is a very simple song with some relaxing guitars.

The King in Crimson - ...And The Great Cold Death of The Earth
I wasn't expecting a song like this in this round but it was a good submission. In quite a bit of parts in the song, it really set the mood of a cold, gray day on earth. I needed my sweater to finish listening to the song.

3
Gorille85 - Collapse the Light into Earth by Porcupine Tree
This song has a great piano piece all the time. Even though I don't know how to play the piano, I am going to learn this song on it. The song did achieve the mood it was trying to set and for some reason I like the lyrics even though they are pretty short.

YtseBitsySpider - Deadman by Karnivool
I really like the intro of this song and pretty much all of it was well. The instrumental sections of song are nice as well. I wouldn't necessarily listen to this ssong on a rainy day but I really like it so it got a 3.

2
jingle.boy - That's the Way by Led Zeppelin
A nice slow song that is mostly only guitar but manages to keep my attention all the way. Can't really say much about this song besides that I would only listen to it once a very long while.

DTVT - ...And Then The Rain by Cloudscape
I enjoyed the guitars in the song and the other instruments were good as well. For some reason it didn't feel like a song that I would like to listen to on a rainy day but would listen to any other time.

1
No song for this place again. Awesome!!!

Standings
13 - zxlkho, dethklok09, Gorille85
12 -
11 - YtseBitsySpider, The King in Crimson
10 -
9 - DTVT, PuffyPat
8 - jingle.boy

Now there is a three-way tie for first. WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well we still have 2 more rounds so it's still anybody's game. Now for round four, sned me a song that is the opposite of this previous round. Send me something that would just brighten to your day and make you feel happy and give free hugs to everybody you saw on the street.
