"Finally Free" and Radiohead's "Karma Police"
« on: September 08, 2011, 08:35:15 PM »
I searched to see if this has been mentioned, but I haven't found anything pertaining to this specifically. It may have been talked about years ago, but I don't know.

I was listening to Radiohead's Karma Police and I noticed that the sound effects of footsteps and a car door closing were extremely similar, if not the exact same, sound effects used at the end of Finally Free. Here's the official music video for Karma Police, and in the beginning you will hear the sound effects. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBH97ma9YiI&ob=av3e
I'm pretty sure it's the same stuff used in Finally Free. Just wanted to know if anybody else had noticed this.

Hmm....I'm not a huge Radiohead fan.  I like their songs and I only own OK Computer which is cool, but really, Coldplay are not even in the same league as Radiohead IMHO.
Everyone else, except Wolfking is wrong.

Actually, it's turning into a Coldpay vs. Radiohead type of thing.

Very few bands are.

Speaking of Karma Police, the little piano thing during the "this is what you get" part sounds a lot like Sexy Sadie by the Beatles.

And lol coldplay.
WHOA, NICE GRAPHICS!

On-topic: The same stock sounds were probably used for both things. Not uncommon. For example, I know that door to Rita's house in Dexter uses the exact same sound as a door opening in Half-Life 2 which is slightly distracting, to say the least.

Nothing wrong with Coldplay, but they are really very, very different from Radiohead, so there really should be no comparison.

So, has this thread run its course yet?
