I bought it on iTunes. It might be on Spotify too.

That's what I love about Leprous, especially on The Congregation, they write such powerful, anthemic choruses. Haven't heard the new song yet but I like to try and hold out until an album comes out.

I've only listened to Malina once, but I think it's safe to say it's pretty awesome.

I'm really optimistic for this, they haven't released a bad album as far as I'm concerned. Not sure this can top Mastodon's latest but I'm 99% sure Malina will be in my top 3.

Bring it!

Came here to post that ^

Listened to 'Stuck' for the first time yesterday night, as I was on holiday for the past 2.5 weeks. This way I'm having two new Leprous tracks in two days, wow!

Yeeeeeah, I'm not feeling this new album at all so far. The three tracks they released I find ultimately boring.

They are definitely not choosing the best tracks of Malina.

Not too sure on this. Left the weakest impression of the three singles so far. That being said, the last minute was awesome and as always Baard's drumming was on point. I'm sure it will grow on me.

I actually find it more similar to their previous work than other songs released so far so yes, expect it to grow on you.

Been listening to my promo copy of Malina for the last couple of days and it's a really excellent album. Some similarities to The Congregation but some new ideas too. Feels more emotionally charged and personal.

No discussion yet on the new album that's been released today?

Usually I wait for my physical copy to arrive, but since I got an e-mail yesterday that it would take about two weeks for it to get here, I went to Spotify and listened to it in the car on the way to work this morning.

After one listen, I'm unsure what to think, but out of all their records, this one left the weakest initial impression, with a slow start to the album, the chorus to 'Stuck' and the low notes in the second half of Bonneville, I can barely remember anything.

Of course, I'll listen to it more often during the following weeks.

Well, that's disappointing. I came here expecting a bunch of comments about the new album and there are only 2...

I think Malina is a great album. It keeps getting better every time I listen to it. It might even become my favorite Leprous album.

Holy sh*t dudes...a friend of mine recommended Leprous last night, and I´m halfway through The Congregation just now. My mind is officially blown!!! I have that great feeling of discovering a new band, which I missed so much recently!!

I've only listened once so far, but I really enjoyed it. Not all of it, but most of it.

Seriously though, that opening riff from Mirage is one of the coolest things Leprous has ever done, if not the coolest. Sounds like it could have been one of Acle Kahney's old TesseracT demos. Freakin' loved that.

Yeah, the album is really good. I've had the promo for about 2 weeks I think but kept quiet and also didn't want to listen to it too much. The Last Milestone might be one of my favourite Leprous songs ever, such an amazing ending. Also yeah, love that trippy vibe of Mirage.

Initially, Illuminate was my clear least favourite but I think the vocal melodies are kinda growing on me, still not a fan of the chorus though. Coma also didn't do much for me but it grew on me a lot and is now one of my favourites along with The Last Milestone, The Weight of Disaster, Stuck, Mirage and Bonneville (I realize that's over half of the album :lol). I do feel like the rhythm department of the album is significantly weaker than The Congregation, way fewer groovy/bouncy guitars and stuff

It will very unlikely become a contender for AOTY, but might scratch the top 10 at the end of the year, it's a solid Leprous album but probably #3 behind The Congregation and Bilateral. Though neither of those albums would be my AOTY either cause this year is just very strong.

Malina will be my album of the year, but I've listened to less than 10 albums so it's not difficult. I'm waiting for the new The Contortionist, Caligula's Horse and Thumpermonkey albums but I doubt thay will top Malina.

I'm surprised to see people that doesn't like at all this album. To me it was amazing since the first\second listen even in 135kbps quality.
Every track is great, none of them is bad or even average, and there are some masterpieces as usual. Bonneville, Mirage, Malina are my favourites at the moment.

I don't know how to rank Stuck and From The Flame, especially Stuck because I have to get used to the new ending, but in the context of the album are better, maybe because I don't have anymore the fear of a entire prog-pop album. I'm waiting for my mediabook to arrive, I still have to listen to Root.

I think I agree with this right now. Malina in third place might change overtime, but Bonneville and Mirage are the clear top 2.

Same for me, Malina is the third one but I could have chosen a lot of other songs.

I have listened this now couple of times and I think after Mirage the last songs of the album are not memorable at all. Stuck is still one of my favorites, the ending is epic! Illuminate have grown on me now in the context of the album.

I have to say that I have a little mixed feelings about this release. They said in some interview that they have reached some point on their career after the latest live album and now it's time to do really different kind of music. They said that Malina is really new side of Leprous but this sounds like Congregation part II.

I don't know if this was any worse than The Congregation but it's certainly not much better. If this is going to be the standard for the band from here on out I don't think I'll ever be excited for another release by them again. :-[

I went on my band rehearsal today and my drummer played some tracks from the computer while I was setting up my gear. One of those songs especially stroke me. I asked him about what it was. Leprous -he said. The track was mindblowing. I have to listen to their discography, and it's a shame that I was not aware of Leprous before....

With the one listen I had of Malina so far (excluding the three singles that were released before), there was one song that struck me as being far better than the others. I'm genuinely curious how subsequent listens will help this album grow on me, because like I said, this album left a very weak first impression.

More listens to follow in the coming week!
