No, I would like to see them live sometime but I don't think I can get back to Groningen with the train after the show (it's about 2,5 to 3 hours)  :P

What a shame, my band is opening the pop-up festival in the afternoon before the Hoofddorp gig (same venue). I hadn't planned on going there as well (Den Bosch is far more convenient), until I had to play there.

Groningen isn't the handiest city to live in for going to concerts if you rely on public transport :p Good luck with the gig and have fun!

So glad to see a thread on Leprous! Just got into Leprous but it was love at first listen. We listened to Bilateral on a whim and we were blown away. I am not sure why this band isn't bigger in N. America. Also LOVE the Congregation and Einar's vocals have gone to a new level (if that's even possible)

How do you pronounce Leprous? This didn't really help.
people on this board are actual music fans who developed taste in music and not casual listeners who are following current fashion trends and listening to only current commercial hits.

Use google translate :tup
EDIT: Fun/embarrassing fact: before I started actively listening to Leprous (when The Congregation came out) I didn't know it was English word, it looks more like French :blush

why not?  That's how I would pronounce it (albeit without the creepy computery voice that is coming to kill you)

Oh okay, makes sense, it's just weird because I always thought it was something like "Lepraws".

EDIT: Fun/embarrassing fact: before I started actively listening to Leprous (when The Congregation came out) I didn't know it was English word
Neither did I.

Cool, I forgot they were touring now! I see now that in the most recent setlist they have left out one of my favourites of the new album (no spoiler if you don't want to know it). However there's no italian date for this second tour..

I always thought it was 'Lep - rus' like in the video. Then again, I kept prouncing Haken like 'Hack - en' instead of 'Hake - en' even though they keep saying that it's like bacon.

Haha, wow! That's cool. I was there with my band, so if you were the guys we spoke to at the end of the night (I gave you our band's cards), then that's certainly true :)

Sorry if I acted weird, I had been drinking the whole day :lol

I still do that, because that's the way you would pronounce it in my mother language and it's hard to break the habits.

If you want to hear Einar Solberg sing on two new songs you should listen to track 1 and 10 of the Ihsahn' s new album Arktis. Especially in Celestial Violence, Einar sings more than Ihsahn

Celestial Violence is amazing.. Must've heard it like 10 times the past 2 days, Einar is better than I've ever heard him before on that track.

Yes, I'm liking it a lot. I can consider it a new Leprous song while I'm waiting for the next album, there's even the ex-Leprous drummer!
I thought his singing was more natural and better too :tup

It's very similar in sound and style. If I hadn't known about it and someone showed this and said it was a new Leprous song I wouldn't doubt them.

After giving this band a few listens over recent months I took the plunge and downloaded Bilateral after reading Elite's write up on his top 50 thread. Right up my street and really loving this album, will be getting the rest of their albums very soon I think.

Been listening to The Congregation a lot lately. Listened to it once when it came out and didn't care for it, but I've listened to it 5 times this week and now I love it. Better than Haken's Affinity imo.

While I really do like The Congregation, I think it's a bit too samey to put above Affinity for me.

Really digging Bilateral a lot but haven't gotten around to listening to any of their other albums yet. Is Bilateral a good representation of their sound across all their albums ir have they changed it up at all? Might just try and go chronologically.

Bilateral sound the most like Tall Poppy Syndrome.

Coal is rather minimalistic (at least compared to Bilateral) and The Congregation expands on the sounds explored in Coal (more rhythmic stuff, staying on the same chord for longer, et cetera.)

While the other albums are all good to varying degrees, I think Bilateral is their only great album.
