I love the Valley as well. Great song live too, in my opinion.

But don't expect to hear a lot of agreement about that.

They are awesome live and I've met them more than once after a show, so you should be good on that too.

Yep- they are fantastic live. Even going in with relatively high expectations, I was pretty much blown away. And for what it's worth, while I haven't met them I did see them interacting with a number of fans. Seems like they were very patient, humble and genuinely pleased to be there.

The Congregation is an amazing album haha, pretty much fell in love at first listen and it's only getting better
Within My Fence isn't as strong as the rest of the album and Red is a bit weaker too but when the bar's this high it's not a huge deal to have "okay" songs"
I love The Price, I love Rewind, I love The Flood, I love Triumphant, I love Slave, omg, the rest is pretty great too. though I don't listen to Pixel much anymore, it didn't stand out much on first listen either and it's a bonus track and the album ends at Lower so that's where I end the album yes

I did listen to Coal and Bilateral through on yt, Bilateral seems like it'll get more interesting with more listens and Coal felt a bit empty to me at times, I really like The Valley but nothing else really stood out and the last song I wasn't a huge fan of

My overwhelming feeling on The Congregation is, if you like floor tom, this is your record.

Amazing. :lol
My first impressions for the album were essentially "More staccato, dissonant chords, more toms, more staccato, dissonant chords, more toms..."

1. Bilateral
2. Coal
3. The Congregation
4. Tall Poppy Syndrome

I think they're all great though. The only reason Tall Poppy Syndrome is at the bottom is the title track.

I don't know. It's probably the only song on all four studio albums that I really don't like. The instrumentals are pretty decent but I hate the voice over.

The title track is probably my least favorite on the album but it's not enough to ruin the greatness of the rest. It's not a very good song, IMO, but it's not quite awful either. Just kind of there.

So, Leprous have launched a funding campaign for a live DVD! Here's the link: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/leprous-live-recording-at-rockefeller-oslo#/

I'm probably going for the CD+DVD combo. It's sad though that smaller bands these days have to launch campaigns like this to be able to just record a live show...

Well, 'just record a live show' is understating that. They have a venue to rent (note: not cheap) and they likely do not want to fuck up on doing this, so they're hiring professionals for video AND audio recording. Then you have your live recording, but you're not there yet, The video and audio have to be edited (note: not easy, takes a lot of time) and then, in order to keep their end of the deal with regards to the perks, they have to press multiple CD/DVD/Vinyl boxes on top of that.

The recording of the live show is the easy part, you just hire someone who records it (which is what my band did as well on one occasion). It's all the planning and post-production that takes the most time and (probably) takes up most of the cost as well, alongside renting a venue.

In the meantime, Leprous only have less than 5000 euros to go before their funding campaign is complete!
