1: A Nightmare to Remember
2: In the Presence of Enemies 1
3: Repentance
4: The Shattered Fortress
5: The Count of Tuscany

Pretty solid album I think. Might listen to a playlist of this sometime.

1- A Nightmare to Remember (16:10)
2- Constant Motion (6:55)
3- The Shattered Fortress (12:49)
4- In The Presence of Enemies Pt. 1 (9:00)
5- In The Presence of Enemies Pt. 2 (16:38)
6- The Count of Tuscany (19:16)

Total run time- 80:48.
It's a little over the time limit, but I wanted 3 tracks from each and I don't really care for A Rite of Passage or Wither on BC&SL. ANTR, CM, all of ITPOE, and TCOT were musts for me. I prefer TBOT to TSF because of the ending solo (to me JP's finest playing) and the softer tone but that put it over 81 minutes so I decided on TSF. I also think this would have a good flow besides the lack of the breather that would have been The Best of Times.

1. A Nightmare to Remember
2. Prophets of War
3. Repentance
4. The Best of Times
5. The Count of Tuscany
6. The Shattered Fortress

78:07

Because I find many of the songs in these two albums inconsistent in terms of quality, I thought that I should order and choose based on how well it would flow. ANtR opens the album with a bang, PoW cools down a little while still maintaining energy, 'Repentance' is where the album sinks to its quietest point then the final three songs build the intensity gradually back to where it started. It may be a bit predictable and perhaps difficult to get through as only one song is below 10 mins but that's the best I could come up with.

1) Forsaken
2) A Nightmare to Remember
3) Repentance
4) In the Presence of Enemies, Pt.1
5) The Shattered Fortress
6) In the Presence of Enemies,Pt.2
7) A rite of Passage

     79:30

I hated leaving out "Constant Motion," "The Dark Eternal Night," and "The Count of Tuscany," among others, but this was the best I could do to select songs that I would want on the album, and still fit the format.

1. In The Presence of Enemies (as one track)
2. Constant Motion
3. A Nightmare To Remember
4. The Dark Eternal Night
5. The Count of Tuscany

Still misses out on a lot of good songs, but that clocks in at 76:57. Very much on the heavy side, with a lot of big songs.

I think I'd go with this one. :metal

I could add a Nightmare to remember if it wasn't for all those unnecesary wankery and growling  :lol

Never did this first time around, so here's mine:

1. ITPOE part 1
2. Forsaken
3. The Ministry of Lost Souls
4. Wither
5. The Shattered Fortress
6. Repentance
7. The Count of Tuscany

I really like that! As with my Dream Theater of Events listing, I've included one song (Forsaken) that isn't among my favourites but is included because it adds a bit more variety and because it's short enough to fit. The rest are my favourites.

Well that was easy

Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

Nightmare To Remember
The Ministry Of Lost Souls
The Count Of Tuscany
In The Presence Of Enemies

~75 minutes.

I know that would not really be the best set up for an album, but that is the music most worth saving to me. If aiming to keep the best songs while also being a reasonable album:

A Nightmare To Remember
Forsaken
Constant Motion
In The Presence Of Enemies
The Count Of Tuscany

I like this... but having Repentance AFTER TSF bugs me. Lol
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

I guess I never actually posted my take on this, did I?  I don't care tremendously for either album so this wasn't difficult.

1.  A Nightmare to Remember
2.  Prophets of War
3.  Wither
4.  The Ministry of Lost Souls
5.  The Best of Times
6.  The Count of Tuscany

About the same length as BCSL in total.  While I'd consider this album to be better than either BCSL or SC, it would still probably be a lower tier DT album for me.

3. Forsaken (5:35)
4. The Dark Eternal Night (8:53)
5. Prophets Of War (6:00)
6. The Count Of Tuscany (19:16)
