Looks like it's on track to hit western New Brunswick, and may be felt as far west as Toronto. That's just bizarre.
I am glad that, for once, it looks like one of these things won't be plowing straight through Halifax.

Our fucking deadbeat neighbors haven't tied down the chairs on their balcony...and asking them to do so could result in a physical confrontation.  Grrrr.....

We've had a couple of bands of rain so far, heavy enough to disrupt the satellite TV.

I'm sad. I won't get any winds more than 40 mph.
Sad?  You should be thankful.

I want to experience a big hurricane. I wish everyone health and happiness, but I want to experience some massive winds.

Here in Nova Scotia, we usually get these hurricanes after they've lost a significant amount of force, and they're still pretty serious. Trust me, as interesting as it may seem, you don't actually want to experience one, especially right after it makes landfall.

Yeah Cole, I don't think you realize how destructive and outright bad they can be, and how much it can affect your life.

I won't lie though, I remember being 18 and walking outside in the very middle of an eye of a hurricane. It was eerily calm and quiet out...you could feel something intense was coming in how quiet it was. It felt light and heavy at the same time, and everything literally seemed gray outside, even the greenest trees and grass. Very surreal experience, 5 or 10 minutes of awe.

I mean, I get the whole "wanting to experience for the sake of experience" thing but hurricanes kinda suck balls. Having your house flooded and RUINING literally everything you own (including your house and car) is horrible and traumatizing. Not worth it

Near Baltimore, so far nothing but rain and gusts around 30-40 MPH, but the actual hurricane isn't supposed to hit us until 2am Sunday.

Rain's been on and off so far, it broke long enough before for my dad and I to move our grill from the backyard into the garage in case we lose power and want to use it to cook.

This. Even then the gusts are only supposed to reach 65mph.

I just saw a bunch of morons in Virginia Beach on camera, and the Weather Channel reporter said that he had just seen some of them go into the ocean.  Just because.

I don't know, I didn't see that.  But it sounds like similar behavior.

Yowza.

Watching some of the reporting on it today on CNN and Fox News, you gotta feel for those reporters who are sent almost into the heart of the chaos to cover the story.  One reporter was even standing in a flooded area where the water was up over his knees. :eek

Same in Long Beach, NY where there were people sufring.  Apparently it was made clear that there would be no rescue attempts for those people and they were entirely on their own.
