Exciting news, my girlfriend just secured herself a full time teaching position!

She's been subbing for two years, as it's fucking heinous trying to land a teaching job in PA, but her search is finally over!

Back in the time I still had to study that, and I'm speaking of about four/five years ago, it used to be a favourite of mine. And since my mother teaches English literature in the high school, you can bet I had plenty of textbooks and other things to nourish my love

Do you love physics as much as this?

I played me some Winter Rose on the way to Uni to cheer up. Fun fact: I heard my first full WR album before I heard my first full DT album. I was around 13 or 14, just getting into rock music, and my brother used to collect all sorts of 80's stuff back then, so he ran across Winter Rose. I remember listening to it and thinking "dear lord, if only the singer would shut up, he's fucking annoying"

the only DT song I had heard up until that point was Hollow Years, and then my brother told me it was the same person who sang both, and I was like "okay, no way in hell I'll be listening to Dream Theater, he pisses me off way too much".

Now, whenever I play WR, I play it for JLB's voice, which I've grown to adore. Funny how things change.

Yeah, it's very funny to look back at our past experiences and laugh in hindsight at how much our perspective has changed, expecially when it comes to music. As I wrote in another thread, in a couple of years I went from hating to loving the DT instrumental sections, be them short or lenghthy. My liking of James's voice, however, has never been questioned nor has dwindled in any way!

As for physics, yes, I love it much and more. It's one of the loves of my life, actually.

When I actually started listening to DT a few years after that, the more I listened to them, the more I warmed up to James' voice, though I finally grew to completely adore it somewhere last year. It's one of those true loves where you love their flaws as well, because it makes them unique

that's why I can understand if people flat out say they hate it - if there was ever a love-it-or-hate-it voice, it's his.

What are the other ones, if you don't mind me asking? Collecting bootlegs must be one of them
