You ask someone(valley girls are pretty damn bad about this) what style(s) of music they listen to and they say "everything" and then after prodding them for a good thirty seconds they won't even mention ONE FUCKING ARTIST that they listen to. "Everything" is quickly being stripped of its context.

This pisses me off really bad for some reason. As Goon said, it's code for Top 40. Which WOULD be fine if they would just say that. "What kind of music do you listen to?" "Oh, I mostly listen to what's on the radio, pop and rap mostly." That would be fine. But they have to wear their ignorance on their sleeve and say "everything" as if there's no music outside the radio. At the end of the day it doesn't really matter, but it's infuriating.
