I've got every season on DVD. Slowly got them over time. I had only seen the later seasons before I saw them on DVD, and I was surprised how good the show was from the start. Aside from some brief worse patches, it was a very consistent show, and definitely one of the best comedies ever.

I agree with Blob about it being one of the best comedies ever. It's a shame it's so seldom on TV here in Canada.

I've seen a bit of Fraiser and it seems pretty good. I've never really had a chance to sit down and get into it though.

That said, I think you all might enjoy this.

Not too long ago I (for the first time) watched all 11 seasons of Cheers, then re-watched all 11 seasons of Frasier.'

That is an amazing experience. You should really watch all of cheers before Frasier, because it gives you a completely different view of the Frasier character and how his marriage with Lillith was.

I've only seen the first 3 or 4 seasons of Cheers because that's all they decided to show on Fox over here.

Get netflix, every episode is on instant.

But it also makes the constant Cheers references on Frasier make a lot more sense.

It's funny, when I first saw the show I thought Daphne had the worst British accent ever, then I wiki'd the actress and it turns out she was actually born in London.

Here's a bit of Irony. She's born in London and has a London accent playing a girl from Manchester. Because of this she has to fake the Manchester accent, which she was taught by John Mahoney who was born in Manchester but lost his entire English accent years ago and now has an American accent. So you have the guy from Manchester playing an American and a girl from London playing a girl from Manchester.

I thought that at first, then I realised she's actually really hot, it's just her hair I dislike. She also has some of the best lines in the show.

:lol And I always thought it was just funny that she was a Brit faking a different kind of Brit accent, but this just makes it even better.

Well if it helps, David Hyde Peirce had no real interest or knowledge of fine wines or opera before Frasier, and it was in fact John Mahoney, the beer drinking football watching father that introduced him to both off set.

Great comedy, yes, but I can't say it was better than Cheers, Seinfeld, All in the Family or a few others.  Still great, though.
