That looks pretty cool. I'm just wondering one thing. In the first two pictures are you boiling the frame?

Kind of. I'm actually dying it. You bring water to a boil and add the dye you want to use. You then put it on simmer and put in the components you're looking to change the color of. The hot water causes the pores in the plastic to open and allows the dye to be absorbed.

Well, that makes more sense now  :lol

I really love this! Great atmoshpere. Are you ever going to finish it?

I am brewing beer with my roommates and decided to make a label. First time doing something like this in photoshop so I learned quite a lot, was pretty fun to do too.

I'd say the photography thing comes after music and books.  :)

I see. Do you write just for yourself or do you have some published stories?

Anyway here's the finished version of my Cyan Sung-Sun fanart piece.

That is remarkable. Damn. What is the significance of the 56 in the background?

As far as myself, earlier today I submitted my first story to a publisher. It's for a horror fiction anthology. The woman got back to me immediately and what she said seemed promising. It was partly a reference to me tweaking it and tweaking it and tweaking it and putting off submitting it because I was afraid it wasn't good enough. "You really did perfect it. That's awesome. It's a really great story. You have a brilliantly vivid imagination and I love the twist at the end."

Thanks a lot! As for the 56, to make it short, it came from the manga she's from. The main antagonist artificially enhanced some of the ''bad'' guys and they were each assigned a number. 1 to 10 were the strongests, while 11 and up where numbered by their order of creation. So this particular character was number 56.

Well that's pretty cool to hear. It always feel good when someone who is actually working in the industry enjoy the work you do. I wish you the best for that  :tup

I really love this! Great atmoshpere. Are you ever going to finish it?

I had a feeling you might liked it  :) And I think it will be one of these piece that I'll work on a little bit here and there until it's complete at some point. Speaking of which here's some progress I've made. The gaint mushrooms somehow turned into some sort of multi-eyed alien creatures. I'm not sure how it happened though  :lol

And I'm also working on a personnal project to update my portfolio. So here are a few background environments I've made for that.

I am brewing beer with my roommates and decided to make a label.

That label is great :rollin

Well I don't have a facebook account, but I still can somehow browse to the pictures. Some I think I already saw before from artists I follow online, but it's nice to have all those lovely pieces at one place. I'll have to keep the link for future... studies...

It's been a while since I posted things here, so here's two paintings I've made for a Halloween themed exhibition that will take place this month.

Here's the first one titled ''Lam Ud Lioe''

And the next one, called ''Ritual'', with a short text to put you into the mood.

Rising voices surrounds me as she approaches
Intimidated by her, I fall on my knees
Tenderly holding the ritual blade, she marches towards me.
Undressed chanting minions are lit into blazes
As the heat rises with their screams, she moves closer
Longingly piercing my heart as the fire welds us forever.

I also spent the last few days making a short animation that you can see at this link: youtu.be/LoJgeGb8P2I
It's nothing too incredible, but it was a good exercise to get me back into animating. And here's a still frame preview of the animation just so you know what you can expect.

Cheers!

Hey, that's cool. Do those few days include doing all of the art too, or just the animation? What software do you use?
My suggestions would be that the arm swing is too sharp when it changes direction (and maybe should occur a little later relative to the rest of the walk cycle), and the main body should follow a slightly more gradual up/down movement, retaining the faster speed at the lowest point that you've already got. Besides that, I really like it overall, and think you should do more!

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. The fews days of work also include doing the artwork. I did the environment with acrylic paints on watercolor paper with some post work in Photoshop. The yeti was made with Photoshop. I animated the whole thing with Flash.

And thanks for the tips. I really appreciate them. You're definitely right about the physics of the movements. The whole walking cycle was probably what took me the most time, but that's the best I could manage to do with my little animation experience  :lol I did learn a lot though, so the next time it should be better. Thanks again!

Walking cycles are difficult, especially when it needs a specific feeling of weight or style to it. There are so many parts moving relative to each other, and because we see people every day walking, it's easy to spot when it's "off", even if you can't pinpoint it. Given your little experience, you're doing really well though. It still looks great, I just notice the details because I have dealt with it myself so many times. It's only very recently I've started to feel more comfortable with walking animation myself, and I've still got a ton of room for improvement.

So I've made a short animation for Halloween. Unfortunately I finished it a bit too late. :lol It's nothing too incredible, but I think it gets the mood across. The art was made mostly in Flash along with some Photoshop (mostly for textures). The animation itself was made with Flash.

Here's a little picture teaser:

They are really nice Christeen, I especially like your avatar. I think the drawing style really matches the subject, awesome!

Since I haven't posted anything in quite some, something I did recently:

"An Early Morning Dance" ink and acrylic paint on paper.

I like the surprise at the end.

As far as I know, you are apparently the only one :lol

So, do you ever do anything poster size?

I did some pieces that could be printed on 11''x17'' and a few that could probably go as large as 18''x24''. I'm not sure if that's what you meant by poster size.

@Christeen: Nice expressive work! I especially like the fiery screaming medusa one.

@home: That last piece is pretty cool! I loooove the three crazy characters.  :lol

So here's some of the stuff I did in recent times

Here's a timelapse video of this one, if anyone other than Blob is interested:youtu.be/1BzExxTWkyQ

@home and @Prog Snob: Thanks guys! I also like the way it came out.

@Chino: Nice! It looks pretty cool. Is the plastic ''shell'' (or however it is called) is something you buy like that or is it model that's custom made?

Here are a few digital sketches I've made in the past few days.

And then here's the latest painting I've made. It's made with acrylic on a fairly small canvas panel (it's 7'' by 9'')

I like those, you guys are talented. This is a cool thread - I should start checking it out.

This is my contribution for today: an animation I did (on Paint) for "Take It Like A Mankey" - a 'mashup' of music by The Offspring and Pokémon Red/Blue that I recorded last year. I tried to make things interesting - for myself, and for other fans of The Offspring - so I included as many references to the band as I could: albums, songs, artwork, videos, the guys themselves... I think there are like 20 'nuggets' - hope they are not that obscure. :P

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XiMEkSxEShM

I also did an animation for another short song I wrote/recorded in November, which represents the way I wrote/played it (since, otherwise, the composition is 'antimusical'). Hope it makes sense! The song is called "Espirales" (spanish for 'Spirals'):

Here's something I did using some more graphic shapes than what I usually do. It was actually fun. It was vaguely inspired by Audioslave's song ''The Last Remaining Light''

And if you don't believe the sun will rise
Stand alone and greet the coming night
In the last remaining light

Audioslave-The Last Remaining Light

I'm also working on four illustration for a magazine who publishes fantastic/horror stories. So I'll post those at some point in the future.

Here's four illustrations I've did for 4 stories for the magazine Brins D'Éternité. I really wish I would had more time to spend on them, but the deadline was pretty tight. I'm still fairly pleased with the result though.

Nicely done, as always. I find that last one especially special.

I forgot to update the status of the book. The woman sent it out to a publisher for review. She was short on words so she asked me if I could write one more short story in record time, so I wrote an extra short story. It wasn't my best but she loved it. We're awaiting a response from the publisher.
