Whoa, thanks for the response man!  Well, are there any good intro-to-art websites that you'd recommend?  I'm a "by-the-book" guy, so following a manual would be best for me, at least in the beginning.
This can be good in early stages of learning anything, in order to build up a technical skill. But ultimately, if you want to be really good at something, you need creativity, which isn't something you can really "learn" and is never "by the book".

I love fooling around with make up, especially the eye shadows, blending the different colours into one another and then seeing the result, it looks nice and makes you feel good about yourself :') I'm currently working on looks for the Brides of Dracula (novel ones ^^), because I'm sick to death of seeing Twilight inspired ones :') It's amazing how different you can make yourself look!

It's not all completely gothic though, which is what I like. The darker haired brides I can envision as being more outwardly seductive with a lot of focus on the hypnotic eyes, whereas the blonde bride would focus more on highlighting and emphasising her lips and eyes in equal measure.

I don't really have any secrets, other than I always use foundation lighter than my skin because 1-I love pale skin and 2-I find it covers blemishes a lot better.

make up is art... if done tastefully.. lol
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

Just about everything I care to share is on my website: www.hyperplexia.net and most everyone here has seen some or all of it already.

This includes my 3D rendered works which I haven't touched on in a long time, my professional work in design and my personal work in both digital and traditional forms.

Some highlights, in no particular order:

I like the face of the woman the best, interesting and very nice stuff though, thanks for posting!

And as for makeup art, if it's creative, it's art, so if it's outside the box, bring it on.

That one is indeed cool, but just to check, you realise that those first 3 aren't photos right, they're 3D rendered graphics?

Andrew, your stuff always amazes me!

Glad everyone feels the same way about make up as me!

And that work right there, is beyond epic, it's simply gorgeous.

Yeah, I know, I just find my favorite to be the girl's face. It has excellent color usage, good dynamics, and it's almost a fusion of real and abstract.

It's all really good stuff though!

Thanks for such kind words! Glad you all like my stuff.

It's been a while since I've had the opportunity to create on my own, with work and home life keeping me very busy. In that vein, I feel I've lost a lot of what made me a personal artist.

What 3D render software do you use?

I have spent a significant about of time learning Blender but have yet to produce anything of quality on it.  The interface is just too cumbersome.

I've not heard of mental ray.  I'll have to look that up.

It's a pro-level rendering engine that has an immensely powerful caustics and global illumination engine, among many other things.

Aaah how did I miss the girly chat! Totally agree that make up done artistically is creative, even though I don't do it much myself.

And Hyperplex, I know I've told you many times before but your work is amazing!

Thanks. :)

I really need to get back into  more creative mode of thinking. I actually need to design something for a friend and just haven't had any time.

It's hard to still consider myself an artist when I have created so little lately.

I know the feeling. I keep telling myself to, sighing, and then wasting the rest of the day.
