By the end of today I should have a new painting done. It's due tomorrow, so shit better be done. I'm painting an owl for my mom's friend. Picture snowy owl, perched on rock in summertime tundra in the arctic. Trying to go more realist in this one, prolly come out more sketchy and rococo...and I hate rococo.

Wish me luck, or else! :neverusethis:

Haha I guess it would be. And that came out really nice! Wish you could get a higher res picture!

Also-- personal pet peeve: taking pictures of paintings or drawings never makes them look exactly like they do in person. It's unfortunate because you can't see some of the artistic qualities of paintings and drawings when they're just photos. I've also noticed with drawings that it's hard to get a perfect picture of the drawing as well.

I agree entirely. Based on what type of lighting you have when you take the picture, the resolution can be grainy, bright or unbecoming. When I took the picture, the first thing I did was upload it to Photoshop to get it as close to the original as possible, and that's harder than my ding-dong on any given Sunday. Also the sharpness of the photo is dependent on the type of camera you have. I have this small camera. It's good, but not what I need. I need a canon or Nikon that will get the details I need to focus on. I think I'm gonna buy one soon.

But in short I know how you feel. Thanks for the kind words.
When can we expect the next one from you, Heretic?

Well, at the moment, I've got a couple of album covers for re-releases of more Ezra Yates stuff that I'm slowly working on, but I kind of need the jobs I've been looking at to reply to me (and then give me money so I can buy some watercolours), so at the moment, my painting is mildly on hold, so I'm making use of the time to record stuff that I've had in the pipeline for three years.

As I said on the other interweb medium: that owl is awesome (this time with a lower concentration of pun).

This was my mid-term final in animation.  The assignment was to do a 30 second "music video" with one of a number of .wavs the teacher had us draw from a hat.  Most of those were actually really cheezy poems about different colours, all by the same random dude.  I drew Black, and did the entire thing (plus a credits scroll).

Got 110% on it.

Left is old me inspired by what my grandparents look like, and right is me now. Sorry for the camera-phone quality as usual. ONE DAY I WILL HAVE A GOOD CAMERA. Or we'll be so far into the future that you'll just literally be able to see my images how they look in real life through metaphysical image viewing. Either or.

There's a meaning behind how they're placed and their poses. See if you can figure it out!

My latest project in animation class was making a PSA about littering.  (If I'm lucky, it might be shown on the daily video announcements during homeroom.)

Come join Pikachu and his pals as he learns to be responsible and throw away his trash!

I really hate how much free time I lack, I'm trying to work on a picture at the minute and I haven't even gotten past the line art stage. On the other hand, it means that when I do come back to it I can find a lot of things wrong with it, that I can re-adjust before I go to the next stage. I've scrapped my style of line art twice already.

Hopefully it'll be done before next year, I just want it to look good :(
