The Birthday Massacre
« on: July 24, 2011, 10:16:08 PM »
These guys (and girl) have been consuming most of my listening habits in the past week, give or take,  thanks to Pins and Needles finally clicking after several months of having it. They’re Gothic hard rock with rich synth textures that are atmospheric and catchy, and probably the most remarkable component of their sound along with lead singer Chibi's vocals. Subtle electronics and industrial flare are the backbone. Highly recommended if you're into this sort of music.

If you look at my post history, I mention this band in practically every "Music General" topic I post in. Absolutely amazing. :)

P.S.: Walking With Strangers is their best album, but "Blue" is one of the best songs they've ever made.

Yeah, Walking With Strangers is ace. I like all of their albums. The only complaint I have is that Chibi's vocals on Nothing and Nowhere is too buried in the mix, but it's still a really solid record.

Good band.
I'm pleasantly surprised that you like them  :lol

I just got into this band. I remember checking them out sometime ago, but not thinking much of them. Then my girlfriend discovered them on Pandora so I thought I'd give it another go, and they pretty much clicked instantby. They're like a heavier CHVRCHES with some eighties Madonna. Some of the heavier songs on Pins And Needles have riffs that remind me of Godsmack. Great sound and great band.
