There's so many things wrong with this I don't even know where to begin. Hell, you don't even need to click the link; the entire article is summed up in the first sentence: "Police in Mississippi say a woman opened fire on a puppy that had threatened children, but wound up shooting and killing her husband."

Oh, and the dog's name was Cocaine.

She must have shot from the hip. Or she must have been loaded. Either way, she went off half-cocked, that's for sure.

Anyway, I'm sure she recoiled after it happened. It wasn't exactly a bang-up job.

I'm not sure if they're right about the fact that this was an accident. They could be off the mark. Remember, this women probably isn't a straight shooter.

So the kids were already inside. The dog was docile enough for the husband to pick it up. The woman shot at the dog while her husband was holding it.

In my world, the kids are off to live with whatever relatives are the furthest physical distance from the parents, and the mother is going to prison, but only after she works 16 hours a day at McDonalds to payback the money for the dog's vet bills.

They can be, sure. But they are also a lot more dangerous and aggressive than pretty much any other breed. I have read countless stories of a pit bull "that was always a nice family dog" attacking someone out of the blue. That shit doesn't happen with collies and cocker spaniels.
