Album of the Year 1981 - nomination phase
« on: July 16, 2011, 11:21:29 PM »
Onward and upward! :D

Rules:
-Post your 5 favorite albums from 1981; the order does not matter.  If you only like less than 5, list those.  Just no more than 5.
-List the band name first and then the album name.  Like this: Band name - Album name
-If you change your mind, edit your original post.  Do not post them again.
-Only studio and live albums will be counted; no best of, compilations, etc.
-Posts that you do not follow these rules will not be counted.

Nomination phase will last two days.

I am leaving King Crimson and Ozzy off because I suspect they won't need my votes to advance.

Jesus, I feel like I just gave birth, but here goes, and for the first time, five albums that truly shaped and defined how I listen to music...

Triumph- Allied Forces
Rush- Moving Pictures
Styx- Paradise Theater
Journey- Escape
Foreigner- 4

Words cannot describe what these albums and this year in general means to me.  I mean, c'mon, I danced with my first girl that year to Don't Stop Believing. The Camera Eye, Tom Sawyer, Red Barchetta, Allied Forces, Fight the Good Fight, Fool for your love, Ordinary Man, Too Much Time on my Hands, Rockin in Paradise, Snowblind were all air guitar staples for years to come.  Juke Box Hero was the first song I learned all the lyrics too, and Magic Power is the first song I truly fell head over heels in love with.  Truly a defining year, thanks for the memories.

It shall, indeed.
Just one thing, if anyone, a single person tries to nominate alboninog, or whatever that Uriah Beep album is called, I'll be missing myself with rage.  Because that album's a total peace of shit.  Just sayin.
