Tetrafusion - the official thread

I'm pretty sure the only fans of them here are DTVT, someone else I'm forgetting, and myself, but I figured I'd post a link anyways. Their trying to fund their next album and need donations.

If you haven't heard of them here are a couple songs. Their definitely one of my favorite progressive metal bands of the last couple years.

I hate to spam the forum with links to a fundraiser. I'm surprised more people on DTF don't like them though, so maybe this will get some more people interested.

I contributed as well.  I listened to Altered State today just to remember how awesome that album is.  It's not posted online so I can't link to it, but Collage of the Present is my favorite song from the last album.

I have a head time deciding between collage if the present and the deserter. Great album though. I think the only song I'm not crazy about is tears of the past, though it's still a good one.

Have you heard absolute zero?

I love how the title makes it sound like I'm coming to a bake sale or something.

I will soon.  Used the $10 donation to cover that, and a $15 one to get a shirt...unfortunately they don't have any XXL's in so I'm hoping I can take a rain check until they do.  I would have went with a phone call but I just don't know what I'd say other than, "Great job last album.  Most of you guys go to Northwestern State.  You remember when they had that big upset as a #14 seed in the NCAA tournament?  That was cool."

I'm 1 for 2 in talking to bands.  I did well with Shadow Gallery, but I'm pretty sure I convinced Dream Theater I make illegal drugs for a living  :lol

They are pretty great, the guitarist contacted me over Myspace a while ago and I've been into them ever since.

Just amazing.  DT should count their lucky stars that some of their fans are at this level of unconditional cult worship.

I really am sorry to be spamming this but they're only $800 away from their goal. This is a group of really great musicians and I'd love to see this work out for them.

Gary Tubbs is pretty active on FB. These guys are awesome. When I bought Absolute Zero they sent a handwritten "thank you" note along with the album. I really think adding a vocalist improved them though. Glad to see this fundraiser actually working so far.

Just did the $10 donation, seems well worth it even though I've only heard two songs by them, heh.

65daysofstatic did something just like this before, had set 30 days for it and reached their goal $7500 in like 4 hours. T think they had like $11000 at the end of the first day. :D

For starters, can we change the thread title and just make this the official Tetrafusion thread?

For those of you not in the know, the guys of Tetrafusion are very generously offering their new EP on a "pay as much as you like" basis, including free if you're a cheap or want to "try before you buy" starting Jan. 31.  You can also buy a physical copy if you'd like (I did).  Myself, Tripp, and Glaurung (I should say especially Glaurung as I know he gave a nice chunk of change) have financially contributed to this EP because we really enjoy their work.  Check out their facebook page for preview videos they are releasing each day until the release day.  https://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#!/Tetrafusion

I'm really looking forward to this.  Hell, at 8 songs its probably more of an album than an EP.  If you like it, please consider "purchasing" the EP either in physical or digital format.  They really are a great bunch of guys, as well as musicians.

I'm gonna buy it in physical for if I can. The band really improved their sound by adding a vocalist and I like them a lot.

Altered States is a killer CD, well worth every penny of the $13.00 it's selling for on LaserCD.com

I'll definitely buy their next release.

I've already pre-ordered the new EP. I still haven't received my custom T-shirt or phone call for the fund raiser though. :lol

Their new album is up for download now!

I would have chipped in a couple bucks for the download if I wasn't already buying the CD.

Nope, it's downloading now. Gonna give it a spin later today.

The track lengths are interesting., not a song longer than about 6 minutes. Most of my favorite songs from Altered State are around there, so I think that's promising.

this album is FUCKING AWESOME. Holy shit. I was a fan of "Absolute Zero" and "Altered state", but them working with the guy who produced BTBAM's albums just revitalized their sound for me.

i can't believe they're offering an album this great for free, too. I feel bands like this are really understanding the "new music industry" way of doing things.

Anyone reading, I highly encourage you to download this album.

ps - my favorite track is definitely Impetus. Love the melodies.
