Last night...
« on: July 06, 2011, 07:37:41 AM »
Last night, after a two month battle against a tumorous brain cancer, my mother's long-time boyfriend passed away.

He was the most intelligent and noblest person I have ever known. He shared my passion for languages and literature; he was always reading a new book each week, let it be about Handel's or Bach's lives, or some calculus, or some stuff I never understood (for his physics lessons at one prestigious university here -he was the dean of his faculty). He was a great virtuoso of the violin. He participated in many choirs. Influenced the formation of many classical musicians. What a great Civil Engineer. What didn't he accomplish?

What am I going to remember him for? For loving my mother more than anything. Oh, boy. Yesterday I couldn't stop shaking. I'm sure I'm going to miss you, Pepe.  God bless you.  :heart

My condolences. My brother died of brain cancer last year, so this brings back some memories. They did catch it late didn't they? Well, there's not much more I can say I guess, I hope you have some supportive people around you.

Praying for you, buddy.
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

Thanks for the kind words.

We normally follow the tradition of burying him the next day, but given the fact he passed away late at night, we are doing this a two day ceremony so people can hear of the news and attend to the mass.

It's curious, we're in the middle of summer and today is pouring...
