This is for any of you who have heard the Images and Words Demos, Majesty Demos, and Vocalist Auditions Bootleg. Here's mine

John Hendricks
Chris Cintron
Charlie Dominici
Steve Stone (botches it live)
John Arch (doesn't do to well on the DT stuff)
Chris Collins

Wow, no biters on this topic?

This is pretty hard to rank them since they all have such different qualities and Dream Theater songs tend to be a very diverse bunch.

It should go without saying that James tops them all

I would say John Hendricks and Chris Cintron are tied at the top.
John Arch gets honorable mention because even though his demo was not good at all, after getting into Fates Warning and his solo record over the last week I realize he could have been REALLY good.

Charlie Dominici is next but I don't think he was a good fit.  Could have still sounded pretty good though.

Chris Cintron gets shit on but bearing in mind they just sorta settled on him and he was never really into the music AND they did not have exceptionally good recording or mixing, I think he had a lot of potential.

Steve Stone was a horrible fit.  I didn't think his demo was that good and he added in some random stuff that doesn't fit in DT like a random "HEY!" I heard his Metropolis demo and it was a little better.

So there ya have it.

John Hendrix steals the top spot for me. His version of DLPM is nothing short of awesome.

I concur.  I still hope to hear this song live one day.

I think as Chris Cintron aged, he would have sounded more and more like Ray Alder. Which isn't a bad thing--I really liked Cintron's version of A Change of Seasons
