News Ticker:
Original post: Alright, so I'm starting this up as a weekly show again. For the people who have been carefully ignoring these threads for the past year, Livestream of Consciousness was developed as a companion show to the Occasional DTF Movie Chat/Drinking Party. Sigz would stream a movie, and afterwards we were still enjoying the streaming deal, so I decided to stream myself playing games (and failing miserably for the most part). This turned into a weekly show for about 10 weeks, and I eventually got tired of all the crap that I had to deal with to make it work. The computer I was using back then was total shit, and couldn't run the most basic software. The quality was horrendous. The other reason I stopped enjoying it was because I had this stupid idea that I would play an entire game to completion, spread out over the weeks. This led to nearly every episode being of Chrono Trigger, which I got very tired of. Attendance declined, and it fizzled out.
Fast forward to early December of 2010. I had the house to myself for an entire weekend, so I figured a good way to pass the time would be to do a huge gaming marathon. Then, I had the brilliant idea of streaming the marathon for people to watch. I had initially picked out the 12 games that I would have played, but I realized that viewership would increase if people were allowed to request the games, so I did just that. Everything was set up, the quality was terrible, but the show was quite successful...until my computer crashed during the 9-10PM timeblock and refused to work properly. End of stream.
I've got a new computer now, and I'm definitely ready to start this up again. The last streams have been learning experiences, and I think I know what to do to keep this interesting. First off, the reason the marathon stream was so much fun was because each game was played for an hour, and then we moved on. With this in mind, all future shows will be a 3 hour timeslot. Simple math dictates that this means 3 games per episode. All content will be viewer requested. There are very few limits. All I ask is that games requested are from PS1/N64 OR EARLIER. PS2/Gamecube emulation isn't solid enough yet, so that's not happening. 1 request will be honored per person until the cycle repeats.
Now, for the two or three of you who enjoyed Chrono Trigger or the idea of playing through an entire game. I'm sure there will be instances where I decide to have a longer than average stream where full games will be played. Such events will be scheduled at least one week in advance, with viewer input for timeslots.
So, this thread is a fresh start for the show. Everyone post what would be your ideal timeslot, and we'll go from there.
