This. I sincerely mean no offense to any cat lovers here but I honestly can only think of one house pet worse than cats and that would be birds. I've lived with two cats in my entire life because they belonged to roommates and the funny thing is that I was ALWAYS super nice to them, they warmed up to me, and for what? The best you can EVER get is a fickle, occasionally ill-tempered animal that comes up to you for a back/belly rub, purrs a little, and then when you least expect it you find some random spot that triggers its claw reflex and you get these filthy tiny syringes of cat grossness dug into your flesh.

Also, their irrational level of fear generally makes them even less obedient than the most stubborn dogs since they'll run for cover even if it means coming in my room where they know they aren't welcome or other understood off-limits spots because it seems safe thus making their situation worse since it means they still have to be removed from there which means additional interaction with the same person they were running from in the first place.

My only problem with cats is they can be destructive. And they shed. I'm watching my mom's cats until further notice and my girlfriend hates them because they use her couch as a scratch post. Totally understandable, but the thing is, the little shits have a scratch post and know how to use it. Still they are awesome cats.

Oh, I've gotten along just fine with the two cats I've lived with. My gripe is just how they give off this "fuck off" vibe when you're trying to be nice to them(like blankly staring at you when you try to call 'em over for petting) and also the aforementioned unprovoked clawings which I assume is some bizarre wiring in their brain that causes them to perceive nonexistent danger.

All this cat convo reminded me of Devious Kat from the old boards. I wonder if her modeling thing is still working out for her.
