Post fan-made artwork for ADTOE!
« on: June 07, 2011, 04:52:50 PM »
As always happens, now that we have a new album title, people start creating fan-made artwork for it, so I thought it would be good to have one thread for it all! :D

I'll be moving posts from the stickied album into this one.

First FANMADE artwork I have found inspired by the album title / tracklist.

I dig it, it's quite beautiful, especially the cloudy background and the central black-hole/gravitational lens. Maybe the white wings are a little cheesy, but they are not really out of place, so they don't bother me.
Actually, I feel that the real artwork will too feature some kind of space object or enviroment (but, hey, I'm not aniland, so you should not believe to what I foresee lightly  :lol).

And sorry for the huge "fanmade", I just wanted to prevent someone from having a heart attack or anything  ;)

meh pretty cliche stuff if you ask me.  I wanna see some hand done art for the cover.  I'm sick of clean photoshop layering collage stuff.
If anyone in this thread judge him; heyy James WTF? about you in Awake In Japan? Then I will say; WTF about you silly?

I couldn't agree more.

They did a good job though.

I agree on this point (it is time to make a change, we've had enough artwork with this style), yet the effort by the original artist is IMO to be praised, and the final result is actually something you won't recognise in the very first place as a fake cover art.

I would love to see some nice photography for a change. Me and the Train of Thought album art have a violent affair, so that would explain it.

I like that cover, it's artistic in a way and has meaning. Unfortunately it has no connection to the title or at least the meaning of this title. Thou it would work if by "A Dramatic Turn of Events" they ment the industrialization over the last century, but I don't see any reason for that.

well.. i guess the nuclear plants are more a reference to the earthquake, tsunami and later nuclear tragedy in Japan.. which for sure can be related to "a Dramatic turn of events"

I didn't see any relation to Japan in that picture. Perhaps if the nuclear plant looked similar to the one in Japan that would help? Or a wall of water of something?

Nice cover ucoskun, but you have to type "Dream TheAtER" if you want the letters to be right as the original logo :)

That is a very cool cover.  Kind of depressing though.

I also like the one with the heavens in it since it seems to match the song titles.

This one reminds me very strongly of ACOS. If "Another World" (ACOS V) were to have an artwork by itself, this one would be more than perfect. It fits the mood and the lyrics very well :)

Other bands have done it before, but a photograph of a surface full of newspaper snippets and photos, all jumbled over each other, would be cool. That would work with the album title.

It took about 2 seconds for that too pop in my head.  Awesome work by everyone so far though!

Here are some quick covers I did. I tried my best not to use many images and make something more abstract.
Also, bonus points for whoever finds the NUGGET in the first cover.

Aside from how badly lit and proportioned the kid is, it's not bad at all. What does that say on the car hood?
