The only song i'm not in love with at the moment is reign of unending terror. The rest are great so far.
"Once he had forests and mountains that were only his - listening to him. Once he would run through the summer days catching memories for ages to come. Now he is dressing this naked floor with his flesh and blood, and time passes by. His trade of pain might just have lead him to deal with consequence for some change as time passes by"

I love the Bloodmeat esque "badada BOOM" part (I don't know how to describe it  :lol). Great song.

I think Hair-Trigger is the song that is standing out for me the most, but I need to listen to the album about a dozen more times to fully appreciate it. I mean, I didn't really love Fortress until about my 3rd listen, and I feel like it's a little more immediate an album than Scurrilous.

So, yeah, I think it's going to be a grower, but I really like it right now. Only time will tell if I love it as much as Fortress.

That filmclip was fantastic and this album keeps getting better and may become my favourite PTH album in time.

This is a pretty cool description of all the song meanings from Rody. I'm really glad they chose a more heartfelt approach to the lyrics for this album.

OK so after listening to all their albums a number of times, I've decided that the new album is at least as good as Fortress, maybe even edging past it to be my favourite. A little less dynamic maybe, but morecl consistent in quality. And C'est La Vie might be my favourite song by them.

Quick ranking of the songs:

Moonlight
Sex Tapes
Termites
Tongue-Splitter
Hair-Trigger
C'est La Vie
The Reign of Unending Terror
Tapestry
Tandem
Dunsel

This is an awesome album. The only song I don't really like is Dunsel, by the way. Always has to be one of "those" songs on every PtH album, it seems.

Completely agree. The songs on scurrilous move from great moment to great moment whereas Fortress has some pretty average moments though the high moments are exceptional.

WTF is this? Dunsel is the best song on the album!!

Dunsel
Sex Tapes
C'est La Vie
Moonlight
Termites
Hair Trigger
Tapestry
Tandem
Tongue Splitter
The Reign Of Unending Terror (still a good song though)

It just seems so... disjointed. And it feels like it could end around 2:15 AND around 4:20 but goes on past both those points.

What I meant was, compared to Kezia and Fortress this album doesn't hold up. This of course is just my opinion.

I agree. I listened to the new album 3 or 4 times when it came out, and I've had to desire to listen to it again. I will give it another chance, but I'm discovering so much new music at the moment that I'd rather be listening to something else.

Yeah it's probably that more than anything, which doesn't really say a thing about the album.

EDITED because I can't spell. :P

And yes, this album took time to grow, but it's definitely more consistent than Fortress, whilst not quite having the highs that Fortress does.
