Seeing them for the second time now in Chicago on the 11th of November, SUPER PSYCHED
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fo59fCISVFw
Also quite honestly, first time I saw them, Brent sounded fine, and the Aragorn Theater he sounds fine too.

I guess I don't mind some of the songs he sings, but Troy is just so much better vocally IMO, and is one of the reasons I love the earlier Mastodon more.
Everyone else, except Wolfking is wrong.

The person who needs more vocals is definetly Brann, his voice is soooo good.

I agree.

but Troy is just so much better [than Brent] vocally IMO

I agree.

I like this album a ton more than Crack the Skye. And I love CtS.

Don't know if it's the new album buzz but I am currently in the same camp as you  :tup

I'm with you guys.... this album is blowing my mind....  :2metal:

That and the title-track are my favorites, I think.

BUMP

Saw them a couple of weeks ago. Such a cool show. Ended up hurting my ankle (still fucking hurts) in the pit during Blood and Thunder. Totally worth it.
I felt its length in quite a few places.

Anyone else jamming 'Creature Lives' right now?
 :metal

As much as I enjoy this album, in the back of my mind I am wanting another concept album from Mastodon.

You are in for one fuckin' badass performance, man. The show felt like the perfect length to me. No songs I was not interested in nor did it feel like it fell too short.

I'm hoping for a Hunter tour DVD but seeing as their first official live DVD came out 11 years after the band formed, I'm not expecting one soon ! :P

The Hunter has slide right down in replay value unfortunately, probably below the latest three albums.

My decreased spins of the album is more a side-effect of having so many new releases this year than anything else.

It's always been sitting comfortably beneath Leviathan and Crack the Skye and it doesn't look like that's going to change anytime soon.
