Will DTF get more traffic from the new drummer announcement, or will Mike's departure still hold the record?

It's possible, but Mike leaving was much more of a shock. It was more out of the blue. Whereas now, everyone knows when the new drummer will be announced, so I don't see why more people would show up this time. In short,

No. I cannot remember if it was for the trailer or the first episode of the doc, but the number for that day was 120 people short of the current record. And now that it is freely accessible news via facebook and youtube, DTF will remain for the long discussion of it...but not the news of it. And large numbers come when people scramble to find news that, like Gadough said, is out of the blue.

Could be. We were having about 560, and it will certainly get upped quite a bit when the final video/announcement is here. I think 750 users is quite possible, 800+ wouldn't be too far off, either.

I think the general public's curiosity of our reactions is going to bring a lot of people here. Not to mention that fans of the selected drummer will probably be signing up shortly after the announcement.

I voted yes, but I gave it a second thought and it's unlikely.

I mean, the announcement has been taking shape in the last couple days and we all are expecting it as of now. The Portnoy thing was unexpected and sudden, so I seriously doubt it.

I think yes. Mikes leaving was out of the blue, so a lot of people didn't know until say the next time they logged on. But we know when this announcement will be, so people who may not be on otherwise will definitely be on now!
