If you're a Terminator fan, Sarah Connor Chronicles kicks ass.

You could also watch The Event. Not great but it's catchy after a couple of episodes.

Dexter used to be excellent until season 3. And until I watched The Wire.

Season 4 and 5 pick up the slack of 3 in Dexter you know.

Season 4 was great, if only for John Lithgow being the best killer ever.

4 was pretty damn good but 5 took too long to get going. I never got to finish it, though, still got 3 episodes left. The writing and acting was noticeably poor.

I haven't seen 5 yet, but 4 was just incredible. Best season in my opinion.

As far as overall feel and characters go, seasons 1 and 2 are the best. The end of season 1 is probably the pinnacle of the show.

Battlestar Galactica

/thread

Along the lines of what you're talking about, Fringe is decent.

@BSG: LOVE the original series but only because it's very cheesy.  Watched the pilot of the reboot and wasn't thrilled with it, probably because I loved the campy feel of the original so much.
Watch it again, then watch the whole series.
